In an interview with News18, Malik shared that some of his on-screen sorrow was inspired by personal experiences off-set.
Faisal mentioned that the actor found great appeal in the character’s simplicity. He shared that there are many individuals similar to this character who lead content lives. The character experiences sorrow due to the loss of his wife and son, yet he bears it with resilience, much like a stoic figure. Remarkably, Faisal suggested that we all may know someone akin to Prahlad, who has persevered through losing their dearest loved ones.
1) As Prahlad brought tears to people’s eyes, his infectious laughter at Pradhan Ji’s joke made us laugh uncontrollably as well. In a similar interview, Faisal acknowledged that maintaining the balance between emotions is challenging. “It’s not pleasant to weep and grieve,” Malik explained, “but for an actor, it takes a lot of time and effort to reach that emotional state. It’s not just any ordinary scene because the preparation itself can affect one’s mental well-being.”
Faisal stated that when an actor immerses themselves in their character’s emotions, they’ve already conquered a significant part of their challenge. In response to the increasing burden he feels with each new season, the 43-year-old explained, “I think every actor should experience this level of pressure since it drives us to continually strive for excellence.”
Actor from The Gangs of Wasseypur 2, Faisal Malik, explained the significant appeal of the show “Panchayat” despite its rural setting. He believes that rural India is becoming the main source of authentic content in the entertainment industry. Malik stated, “Urban stories may not be as prevalent for a considerable period. There’s an inherent attraction towards rural or small-town life that we all feel to some extent. This connection will endure throughout our lives.”
The actor thinks that in 50 years, these tales will transport us back to how life once was, making it feel as if we’re delving into a time capsule from eras past.
