PaperBoy Paris Teams Up With Bangkok's Carnival for Limited-Edition Capsule

As a gamer with a deep-rooted love for streetwear and food, I can’t help but be thrilled about PaperBoy Paris‘ latest collaboration with Carnival. Coming from a background where my gaming avatar is as stylish as my real-life persona, this news is music to my ears!

Following the announcement of his new collaboration with New Balance sneakers, the renowned figure James Dridi, also known as PaperBoy Paris, has now unveiled another partnership. This time, he’s teaming up with the leading streetwear brand in Bangkok, Carnival.

In this partnership, Dridi drew upon his renowned sandwich-making skills, a talent celebrated in Paris. Although his restaurant at home presents sandwiches with a Japanese flair, he decided to infuse them with Thai flavors as a tribute to the location. The menu boasted three sandwich choices: a garlic sriracha fried chicken bun, a sub called “crying tiger,” along with an egg and vegetable sriracha roll. Extra items featured on the menu were homemade ginger elderflower lemonade and peanut butter cookies ice cream for a sweet finale.

Since the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Elite V4 shoes weren’t on sale anywhere except Paris and Tokyo, Dridi and Carnival still managed to create some exciting collaborative merchandise. The goods up for grabs were two graphic tees – one white with his logo and another black displaying “PaperBoy” in Thai script. This Thai script was also seen on a pair of luxurious Muay Thai shorts, which stood out as the star item of the collection. Other items included ceramic plates, mugs, a sandwich press, and co-branded sriracha sauce. To increase the exclusivity, these collaboration items were only available at the pop-up store that closed on August 11th.

As a fellow enthusiast, I’d put it like this: “Sharing a passion for sneakers and individual flair, which stems from our ’90s upbringing in France, my family and I also have an unquenchable thirst for Asian cuisine. Our adventures often find us at the heart of vibrant restaurants, exploring new textures and flavors. The iconic Sriracha bottle, ever present at the center of our table, was a symbol of excitement and caution for the kids. In honor of these cherished memories, we aim to bring this unique culinary experience into the modern world.”

He further shared “The Thai boxing shorts have the same connection to our fond memories! Discovering Thai boxing in our early teenage years was mesmerizing: the body dance, the power, and the dedication mixed with spirituality and hard work represents what we are pushing for now in the kitchen. Working with Carnival who offered us the chance to realize this dream and we are truly happy to build a relationship together. Now we know that we have family in Thailand and can’t wait to build another experience together.”
