As an ardent fan of Patralekhaa, I must say her dedication and resilience during the shoot of IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack leave me absolutely awestruck! The intensity of her experience mirrors the real-life ordeal that the passengers of Flight 814 went through.
Actress Patralekha is preparing for the launch of her upcoming Netflix series titled IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack. Recently, she disclosed some challenging moments on set, admitting that she experienced feelings of being confined and even fell unwell, while director Anubhav Sinha was also struggling with a fever. She further mentioned, “I received a firm slap” during filming.
Patralekhaa is excitedly counting down to the debut of IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack. In a chat with News 18, she recently disclosed some intriguing insights into her filming journey, expressing that the claustrophobic atmosphere within the airplane, filled with approximately 100 people including the crew, has left an indelible mark on her.
In simpler terms, she mentioned that the predicament became harder because they couldn’t use the air conditioning due to noise problems, which made things even hotter. When she finished filming, the difficulty of the production really stood out to her.
The actress admitted that the demanding filming caused her to struggle with her health for over a week before fully recuperating. She added that both she and director Anubhav Sinha became unwell during production. “It took me more than a week to fully bounce back. I came down with an illness, [Anubhav] sir had a fever. Despite this, after some time, your mind is fully engaged. That experience was difficult. I hope I never find myself in a real hijacking, but it felt incredibly realistic,” she stated.
In addition to discussing the intense action sequences, Patralekhaa disclosed that she endured a forceful slap during filming. She explained that she was psychologically ready for it, particularly after learning that Taapsee Pannu had been struck fifteen times while working on Thappad. This mental readiness enabled her to persevere through the difficult scene.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. This gripping tale takes us back to the chilling events of Indian Airlines Flight 814 in 1999, unveiling unsung heroes, untold narratives, and moments that will forever linger in our minds. Patralekhaa brilliantly brings Indrani, a resilient air hostess, to life, while Vijay Varma masterfully portrays Captain Devi Sharan, the fearless pilot who piloted Flight 814 during the Kandahar hijacking. I can’t wait to immerse myself in this riveting account of an unforgettable day!
