Patrick Dempsey to Topline ‘Memory of a Killer’ Drama at Fox

Fox’s just-announced drama series Memory of a Killer has found its lead actor.

In the new series, Patrick Dempsey will portray the role of a hitman who receives an early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s at a pivotal moment when his secretive life starts to unravel. This show is adapted from a 2003 Belgian film that garnered several awards in its native land.

Dempsey is set to make a comeback on prime-time TV, having previously shone for over ten years on Grey’s Anatomy. He recently finished working on ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ at Showtime and played a lead role in the Italian series ‘Devils’, which aired on The CW network in America from 2020 to 2022.

Fox unveiled the commission of “Memory of a Killer” within their 2025-26 programming plan, which they revealed on Monday. This show is scheduled to make its appearance as a mid-season addition on the network.

In this TV show, Dempsey will portray Angelo Ledda, a man who leads a secretive life as both an NYC hitman and a photocopier salesman in Cooperstown, upstate. He’s been successfully hiding these two aspects of his life for years, but now his double existence is at risk due to Alzheimer’s disease, a condition that his older brother has already succumbed to. With the knowledge of how this disease progresses, Angelo knows he can’t escape it and must confront the challenges that lie ahead.

As he uncovers the truth about his wife’s death, which he suspects was not an accident, the situation becomes even more dire. When someone threatens his pregnant daughter, the line between his lives becomes blurred. Angelo, a highly resourceful and skilled individual, is now facing the greatest test of his life. Every moment counts as he struggles to uncover clues from his past hits while keeping his diagnosis hidden and managing to cook dinner for his daughter on time. To protect his family, Angelo must track down his sworn enemy while continuing his work as a hitman, all while trying to solve the mystery of who is after his family.

Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment are collaborating on the production of “Memory of a Killer”. Executives Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone (known for BBC’s “Silent Witness”) are among the producers, along with Cathy Schulman from Welle Entertainment, Arthur Sarkissian, Martin Campbell, and Peter Bouckaert from Eyeworks.

Warner Bros. TV and Fox Entertainment are working together to make a show called “Memory of a Killer”. Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone (from BBC’s “Silent Witness”) are some of the producers, along with other people from different companies like Welle Entertainment, Eyeworks, etc.
