As a movie enthusiast wrapping up The Last of Us Season 2, I can empathize with those who are still grappling with the heart-wrenching demise of Joel, portrayed by Pedro Pascal. Even though I don’t personally know the actor, the impact of his on-screen departure left an indelible mark. It was intriguing to learn about his sister’s emotional response to that pivotal scene, and honestly, I can understand why her feelings mirrored those of many viewers.
Lux Pascal was recently asked at a red carpet event about her brother’s big scene on The Last Of Us, she wasn’t thrilled to watch Season 2. Even though I know it’s merely a performance and not real, the intensity of the scenes is palpable enough to stir strong emotions within me. I can only imagine how much more challenging it must be for the family members of the actors involved.

On this note, Lux Pascal has previously experienced the heart-wrenching moment of seeing her screen brother perish. It wasn’t too long ago when we witnessed her portray the HBO star meeting a grisly end on Game Of Thrones. As she continued discussing the topic, she also brought up a couple more films where she had to bear witness to her brother’s demise.
1. He’s not done this to me for the first or second time. I believe it’s the fourth instance now.
2. This isn’t the first or second time he’s done something to me; it seems like the fourth occurrence.

As a film enthusiast, I must admit that being taken aback has become the norm while watching The Last of Us Season 2. The narrative continues to unravel as Ellie tirelessly seeks retribution against those who took Joel away from her. In the recent episode, the pain was intensified when we learned that Joel had shared his secrets with her before his untimely demise, hinting at a path toward resolution for their strained relationship.
Speaking from personal perspective, playing Joel in ‘The Last of Us’ isn’t just a regular acting gig; it pushes me to delve deep into emotional territories that aren’t exactly easy on the heart.
It’s uncertain if understanding that Ellie was aware of Joel’s deception before his demise eased her acceptance of it in The Last of Us, but it undeniably softened the impact of his passing to some extent. At least, Ellie can avenge him with full knowledge of his actions, instead of being taken aback at the last moment.
Being that I haven’t played The Last of Us video games, I have no clue about how Season 2 might conclude. I’d like Ellie to seek retribution, but I suspect it will come with a heavy price given her immersion in uncharted territories. Ellie isn’t shy about taking risks, but I can hardly imagine her surviving this predicament any longer.
