‘Pee-wee’s Big Adventure’ Original Red Bike Acquired by the Alamo

Pee-wee Herman’s original red bike has found a new home at the Alamo.

Last Friday, The Alamo announced with excitement on Instagram that the iconic stunt bicycle from the 1985 movie “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” will be showcased at their upcoming museum, scheduled to open in 2027.

This summer, I’m beyond excited to share that as a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the iconic movie “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure”, the legendary Alamo has just got their hands on the actual stunt bike used in the film! Can you imagine? This piece of cinematic history will be proudly showcased at our future Visitor Center and Museum, set to open in Fall 2027. As a gamer (and movie fan), I can’t wait to see this iconic symbol of adventure up close!

For approximately two more years, Pee-wee’s famous red bicycle remains hidden at the Alamo. However, they’ve also shared exciting news: for a brief period, fans will have an exclusive opportunity to witness this cinematic artifact at the Ralston Family Collection Center in a special, time-limited display.

The movie screening is coming up for everyone at the recently opened Plaza de Valero, and it’s absolutely free! No need to fret about the bike right now, we’ve got it safely tucked away, possibly in the basement!

In the movie titled “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” Pee-wee Herman, portrayed by Paul Reubens, embarks on a significant journey to retrieve his stolen bicycle. According to reports from People, the bike was purchased at a memorabilia auction in early May by a private collector for approximately $125,000.
