[This story contains spoilers for Gossip Girl.]
It’s unlikely that a crossover featuring you as Gossip Girl and Nobody Wants This was ever expected to happen in 2025.
Or,
Such a combination of you as Gossip Girl and Nobody Wants This wasn’t something people predicted would occur in the year 2025.
As the guy who plays Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s gripping series “You” (with its fifth and final season dropping next month), I had a unique opportunity to step into another world for a bit – lending my voice to narrate a scene from one of their other popular shows, “Nobody Wants This,” featuring the talented duo Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. Quite a switch from stalking LA’s elite!
Moreover, it’s not just Netflix that links the two shows. Chuck Bass, portrayed by Badgley on Gossip Girl from 2007-12, had Bell narrating the series. Interestingly, Brody is married to Leighton Meester, who played Blair Waldorf, the iconic character in Gossip Girl as well.
Not only do the shows share Netflix, but Badgley, who played Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl from 2007-12, had Bell narrate the series. It’s also worth noting that Brody is married to Leighton Meester, the actress who brought Blair Waldorf to life in Gossip Girl.
Both sentences convey the same information but with slightly different emphasis and structure.
Greetings, Upper East Siders! As you might recognize from his unique Joe tone, Badgley says in an Instagram post by Netflix, ‘You know you adore me.’ In the final episode of Gossip Girl, it was disclosed that the charming Kristen Bell was providing her voice to my character, Dan Humphrey, who turned out to be the real Gossip Girl – a little spoiler there! To reciprocate, I’ll be adding a storyline twist to Kristen’s show, Nobody Wants This.
The story he tells takes place during Bell and Brody’s cherished ice cream outing, just moments before their initial kiss in episode two.
Badgley remarks, ‘It’s hard to believe you’re being sincere about sharing ice cream,’ as they stroll down the sidewalk. ‘Typically, the friend zone is a chilly, dismal area where emotions can be buried in heaps under piles of ice cream, but this feels like torment.’
It’s sad, I understand, but how can I let you go when I suspect you might feel the same?” he says. “I never thought controlling ice cream would make a woman’s knees weak, but watching you command the situation with those piercing eyes of yours leaves me in no doubt that this strong connection can’t be ignored. It leaves me certain that I want more than just friendship from you. What I truly desire is Adam Brody.
Netflix added in its caption, “nobody wants YOU. xoxo, joe goldberg.”
The second season of “Nobody Wants This” has been green-lit, and the last season of “You” will debut on Netflix on April 24th.
