As a long-time fan of Full House and its beloved cast, I have been deeply moved by Dave Coulier‘s recent cancer diagnosis and his courageous battle against non-Hodgkins lymphoma. It is truly heartwarming to see the outpouring of support from fellow actors, friends, and fans alike during this challenging time.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share the news that Dave Coulier, famously recognized for his role as Joey Gladstone in “Full House” and its spin-off, “Fuller House,” has bravely revealed his diagnosis with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. This beloved actor is now courageously fighting this disease, and since he’s opened up about it, he’s been showered with love and encouragement from John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, fellow stars, and numerous fans alike. In a show of unity, Stamos has sported a bald cap, but this gesture has sparked some controversy. Quick to address the situation, Coulier has issued a heartfelt response.
This week, John Stamos posted on Instagram to honor his long-standing TV colleague who’s battling cancer. Known for his role as Jesse Katsopolis in one of the most popular TGIF shows and its sequel, sporting sleek black hair, Stamos donned a bald cap in various photos he shared. Alongside these images, the former star of Grandfathered expressed admiration for his friend’s “remarkable resilience and optimism.” You can find the post below:

Some fans expressed positive feelings over the Big Shot star’s gesture. Yet there were others who took issue with it. Some appeared to question why the actor didn’t actually shave his head, while others accused him of being performative with his actions. Dave Coulier himself seemingly caught wind of the responses and ultimately penned a response that was shared to Instagram. He began his statement by saying that he was “sorry to see a bunch of negative comments” at the start of his cancer journey. Coulier added:
In simpler terms, our friendship (me and John) is something special that we cherish. During these challenging times, we’re finding ways to support each other. I, being a comedian, find solace in humor. John has this unique ability to uplift my spirits, and it was absolutely hilarious when he showed up wearing a bald cap – showing his caring side as both a friend and brother.
As a longtime comedy enthusiast, I can tell you that the seasoned comedian recently expressed how he’s been touched by numerous individuals who’ve been motivated by his efforts to promote cancer screenings. He further announced his resolve to “laugh in the face of adversity” amidst his health challenges. Interestingly, the former Muppet Babies star also revealed another reason why his diagnosis holds such a deep meaning for him.
After the tragic loss of my sister Sharon, mother Arlen, and niece Shannon due to cancer, we endeavored to maintain a positive outlook and found solace in laughter during those difficult times. Moving forward, I’m committed to raising awareness about early cancer detection in hopes of helping others. That’s simply the kind of person I am. Sending love to all of you.

‘Dave Coulier, from the show Full House, suggests that people can either view it as a well left empty or one that’s continuously being filled with memories of Bob Saget.’
The cast members of “Full House” have demonstrated over time that they are very close to each other. In fact, they have grown so close that they might as well be a real family, sharing a connection similar to their on-screen characters. They’ve reunited at various conventions throughout the years, sharing anecdotes about their popular shows with fans. More recently, they came together following the sad passing of Bob Saget to honor and remember him collectively.
Regardless of how some people may feel about John Stamos’ way of honoring his friend, it seems that he and Dave Coulier are remaining close at this time. We here at TopMob wish Coulier the best as he continues to undergo treatment for cancer. Fans can also stream Full House using a Max subscription, while Fuller House can be accessed using a Netflix subscription.
