‘People had already…’: Wamiqa Gabbi finally BREAKS SILENCE on debacle of Baby John co-starring Varun Dhawan

Currently, Wamiqa Gabbi is eagerly awaiting the premiere of Bhool Chuk Maaf. Most recently, she appeared in Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, a movie that garnered much excitement prior to its release but didn’t fare as expected at the box office. Despite the financial disappointment, the actress gained immense popularity on social media. Nevertheless, acknowledging the film’s failure, Gabbi finally spoke up about the divided response to the film following its premiere.

In a recent chat with The Times of India, Wamiqa Gabbi discussed the disappointing reception of her latest film, Baby John. She expressed that she and the entire crew gave their all. Although some people enjoyed it, she acknowledged that it didn’t connect with many viewers.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reflect on my thoughts about our beloved film. It seems that the fact it’s a remake might have played a role in its box-office performance. After all, many viewers may have already seen the original version, which could have influenced their decision to watch this one.

Nevertheless, the actress continues to express her appreciation for having been part of the action-packed film and for crossing paths with producer Atlee during that journey.

She openly shared her joy about collaborating with stars like Varun Dhawan, Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, and moreover, highlighted Zara Zyanna. She acknowledged enjoying the process immensely and meeting wonderful individuals. To add, she was thrilled to have had such an opportunity to learn, perform action scenes, and overall it was a delightful experience for her.

Under Kalees’ direction, Baby John was a Hindi remake of Atlee’s successful Tamil film, Theri. This movie was launched last December but unfortunately didn’t perform well at the box office. As per TopMob’s box-office evaluation, the film managed to earn approximately Rs 37 crore net within India and a total of Rs 59 crore worldwide.

Moving forward, Wamiqa is eagerly anticipating the premiere of her upcoming comedy-adventure titled Bhool Chuk Maaf. Sharing screen space with Rajkummar Rao, this film is helmed by Karan Sharma and boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, and Anubha Fatehpuria in pivotal roles.

Initially scheduled for a theatrical release on May 9, the film has now been postponed to May 16. Instead of hitting the big screens, it will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
