Pete Davidson Gets Real About Handling Celebrity And His Dating Life Being Highly Publicized: 'I Got Hit On The Face With The Hollywood Shovel'

As a gamer who’s been following the rollercoaster ride of Hollywood for years, I can’t help but feel a pang of empathy for Pete Davidson. His journey from Staten Island to Saturday Night Live and beyond has been nothing short of extraordinary, but it seems like the spotlight has often shone brighter on his personal life than his professional achievements.

Pete Davidson has been involved in numerous productions, some of which are scheduled for release as far ahead as 2025, alongside his career in stand-up comedy and eight years on Saturday Night Live. However, when considering Davidson, it’s not his professional endeavors that typically capture the public’s attention first. Instead, fans seem captivated by his personal life, particularly his relationships – such as with Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, and more recently, Maria Georgas from The Bachelor. This fascination has led Davidson to reevaluate his priorities, candidly admitting that he’s felt like he was “shoveled in the face by Hollywood.

In a conversation with W magazine, Pete Davidson shared about his attempts to steer clear of media attention and prioritize aspects such as wellness, family, humility, being a good person, and avoiding drug addiction. It hasn’t been a smooth journey, but the actor expresses appreciation for where his celebrity journey has led him, acknowledging:

Indeed, fortunately, I received a blow on my face from the Hollywood shovel. It was an event long overdue, and I believe it was just what I required. Currently, I’m feeling quite content mentally.

It’s unclear if Kanye West publicly feuding with a Kardashian during his romantic involvement was one of the heavy burdens, but it seems as though being predominantly recognized for his relationships rather than his work may have had an impact. He went on to say:

I prefer to be recognized for my quality work rather than just being in the limelight. I want to make an appearance only when it’s related to movies, stand-up comedy, charitable causes, or business endeavors. These are the times I wish to be noticed. I don’t enjoy being labeled as someone who merely dates people. That’s not my identity. However, nowadays, celebrities are often criticized. The media select a few celebrities every couple of years and unfortunately, they tend to tear them down. It seems that I have been one of those chosen for scrutiny. Ironically, this situation has served as a blessing, allowing me to step back and reassess myself.

For quite some time, Pete Davidson’s romantic life has been a recurring topic, gaining significant attention in 2018 when he was engaged to Ariana Grande for five months before their separation. Afterwards, he dated Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor, followed by a brief romance with Kim Kardashian after she hosted Saturday Night Live and shared a kiss during an Aladdin-themed sketch. Their relationship lasted approximately nine tumultuous months, and since then, he has been linked to Emily Ratajkowski, Chase Sui Wonders, and Madelyn Cline.

Can he really blame us for being obsessed?

If you’re curious about Pete Davidson’s upcoming acting projects, he has two movies coming up: “The Home”, a horror film, and “Wizards!” produced by A24. Here’s hoping that 2025 will be a successful year for him in terms of his on-screen endeavors!
