It’s common knowledge that Pete Davidson and Colin Jost bought the Staten Island Ferry. Lately, though, Pete has disclosed another big aquatic acquisition – an enormous fish tank for his home. The funnyman even shared the story behind it, and as he put it, “it’s a real laugh riot.
In the lineup for 2025, Pete Davidson’s movie “Dog Man” and SNL’s 50th Anniversary special are scheduled. As a result, he has been appearing on various talk shows. While visiting Late Night with Seth Meyers, he was inquired about whether he owns any pets. In response, he shared that he is allergic to pets that would bring him joy. However, he does have a large fish tank, which Meyers noted seemed to be a permanent fixture in his home. Davidson then elaborated on the aquarium’s presence, explaining:
Let me clarify. I spent four months at a rehabilitation facility, then returned and stayed in the living room for a while. Honestly, it was a choice I made without giving it much thought.
Previously, there were news reports stating that Davidson sought treatment in a rehabilitation facility. After returning home and resuming his work, he’s been narrating anecdotes about the decisions he made previously and the individuals who stood by him during this period and throughout his career – such as Lorne Michaels and John Mulaney.
Although it’s no joke, Davidson being a comedian, he can elicit laughter from the questionable choices he made prior to entering rehab. It seems that his aquarium might serve as a recurring theme in his humor, given that he disclosed how frequently he needs to clean it.
After arriving home, I found someone cleaning it, and I asked, “Do I need you to return like this every six months or so?” To which he replied, “No, actually it’s more like two to three times a week for the foreseeable future.” Thus, there’s an individual named Norm who visits twice weekly.
Clearly shown in the video, the tank is enormous, leading one to infer that the Bupkis star requires frequent cleanings due to its size. For added emphasis, he shared this detail with Seth Meyers.
You can’t tell, this is half of my living room. It’s 150 gallons. It’s hilarious.
Davidson implied that Norm, the tank cleaner, is responsible for maintaining both Tracy Morgan’s aquarium and a friend’s tank. Thus, it’s possible that even though Davidson might not have initially recognized the purchase of this particular tank, he appears to be quite dedicated to the wellbeing of his fish.
Currently, things have become even more complex as the former SNL cast member shared that the placement of his fish tank is less than optimal due to the fact that his front door directly leads into it. Consequently, he feels compelled to caution guests to exercise caution upon entering his residence.
In essence, the fish tank appears to have played an unexpectedly significant role in the comedian’s life, and it’s a tale that is particularly amusing when looked back upon. As we continue to see more of Davidson’s films and shows, I fervently wish for further insights into his fish, as I, like him and Norm, have become engrossed and yearn for more details about his recent aquatic venture.
