When asked about the possibility of Tom Hardy playing James Bond, Brosnan expressed, “Oh, Tom would certainly excel in the role! There are numerous talented actors who could embody this character. As for who it might be, I am clueless. I only hope they achieve great success with it. Cheers to that!” It’s not the first time Brosnan has suggested that Hardy would make a fitting Bond; in fact, back in 2018 during an interview with Event magazine for the Mail on Sunday, the actor stated, “I believe Tom Hardy could be a great Bond. I’d be delighted to see him take on the role!

Tom Hardy appears well-suited for the part based on his acting history, which includes a variety of action films and roles in franchises like The Dark Knight, Mad Max, and Venom. He has been coy about the rumors surrounding his potential involvement, stating in 2017 that “There’s an unspoken rule among actors and our peer group: if you discuss it, you’re immediately disqualified. So I can’t possibly comment on that one. If I bring it up, it’s over.” This suggests he may be keeping quiet to keep his chances alive.
