Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated album, titled “I AM MUSIC“, has at last been released, albeit slightly later than expected, appearing on various streaming platforms around midnight on March 14.
This 30-track album, which runs slightly over an hour, showcases a variety of collaborations. Future is featured on three tracks: “CHARGE DEM HOES A FEE,” “TRIM,” and “DIS 1 GOT IT.” Young Thug and Ty Dolla $ign share the spotlight on “WE NEED ALL DA VIBES.” Lil Uzi Vert contributes to both “JUMPIN” and “TWIN TRIM.” Travis Scott appears on multiple tracks: “CRUSH,” “PHILLY,” and “WAKE UP F1LTHY.” The Weeknd joins in on “RATHER LIE,” Skepta lends his voice to “TOXIC,” and Kendrick Lamar is part of “GOOD CREDIT.
Carti’s debut studio album since “Whole Lotta Red” in late 2020, titled “I AM MUSIC,” has been long in the making over several years and saw multiple title changes (originally known as “Narcissist”). This record is a product of his increasingly experimental creative process, with much of it being recorded for three months in a cave-like studio in Paris.
