- Gigantamax Raids are coming to Pokemon Go
- These difficult battles cannot be completed alone, meaning teamwork is essential
- Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard will be the first Gigantamax Pokemon
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement about the arrival of Gigantamax Raids in Pokemon Go. The main series has always been a significant part of my gaming journey, and the prospect of battling these larger-than-life creatures is truly enticing.
Recently, Niantic introduced Dynamax Raids to Pokemon Go, enabling you to fight colossal versions of certain Pokemon, along with enhancing some of your own. However, starting October 26th, the thrill level will escalate significantly as Gigantamax Raids are soon to arrive.
If you’ve followed the primary games, you’re aware that Gigantamaxing doesn’t just make Pokemon grow bigger but also alters their appearance and equips them with potent GMAX attacks. Given their strength, it’s no wonder that defeating them won’t be a walk in the park, especially if you’re not in a large group or going solo. In fact, it’s possible to confront them with as many as 40 individuals, although this isn’t necessary for victory.
Similar to the Dynamax Pool, only specific Pokemon will be available for Gigantamax Raids initially. Excitingly, Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard are set to kick off this new feature, each boasting a powerful GMAX attack. It’s suggested that the rewards for defeating them will be substantial. Fingers crossed, they’ll be more impressive than the current rewards for conquering a Dynamax Raid.
To honor this special event, Niantic has collaborated with Emmy-winning composer Ramin Djawadi to produce the soundtrack for the release trailer’s debut. As Djawadi was known for his work on Game of Thrones scoring epic battles, he brings a perfect touch to this collaboration. You can listen to it below.
Speaking about his role, he mentioned: “Gigantamax is more than just big; it’s a grand occasion to create this magnificent theme tune for the Pokémon Go promo video.
In our effort, we aimed to design a story that mirrors the hero’s quest. With towering Pokémon casting long shadows, players unite for a remarkable journey, conquering seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
