Pokemon Go will bring Oranguru and Passimian for September 2024's Research Day

  • Research day to be held on September 22nd
  • Oranguru and Passimian will be featured during the event
  • Purchase a paid Timed Research for extra encounters

As a seasoned Pokémon GO player with years of catching ’em all under my belt, I must say that this September has been quite the rollercoaster ride for us trainers! From Max Out to GO All Out and Go Big, it seems like Niantic is determined to keep us on our toes. Now, with Psychic Spectacular, Raid Day, and a Research Day looming ahead, I can hardly contain my excitement!

As we’re right smack in the middle of September, there’s been plenty happening for Pokémon Go enthusiasts! The Max Out season kicked off on the 1st of this month, introducing the long-awaited Dyanmax feature into the AR game. Following suit, all the seasonal content is rolling out, including events like GO All Out and Go Big, which have already passed. Psychic Spectacular is fast approaching too, with a Research Day to follow.

The Raid Day happening next month is set for September 22nd, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in your local time zone on Pokémon Go. During this event, Oranguru and Passimian will be the main focus Pokémons. Additionally, you might have a better chance of encountering Shiny versions of these Pokémons, increasing your odds of getting a more powerful one.

In addition to regular Field Research tasks, you’ll find these tasks on rotating Photo Discs at different PokéStops. Finishing these missions rewards encounters with themed Pokémon. Moreover, you can also spot other Pokémon roaming freely in the wild areas, including Mankey, Aipom, Slakoth, Chimchar, and Grookey.

If you want to stay one step ahead, consider buying a Timed Research for only $2 (or its local equivalent). This purchase will give you access to an event-specific Timed Research with additional Field Research tasks. With more quests available, you’ll have increased chances of encountering Oranguru and Passimian.

Unlike most seasonal activities, this Timed Research doesn’t last long. Once the event concludes, it expires, meaning you need to act promptly to finish the tasks. Procrastination could lead to missing out on the unique prizes. Additionally, the tickets are not refundable, so plan your time carefully to ensure you can accomplish the tasks.
