What is Poker Face about?
As a lover of the enigmatic mystery series from the 70’s, such as Columbo and Murder, She Wrote, I find myself utterly captivated by the show Poker Face. The story revolves around me, Charlie Cale, a modern-day lie detector, roaming across the country in an old, battered Plymouth Barracuda. Each adventure leads to solving intriguing crimes that keep me on my toes.
Rian Johnson (known for “Looper” and “Knives Out”) is the mastermind behind this project, taking on the role of executive producer alongside Natasha Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, and Lilla Zuckerman. Additionally, both Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne are in charge of directing the series, with Tony Tost serving as the showrunner.
Last year, as showrunners on the first season of a certain series, Nora Zuckerman shared with Variety that we’ve been brimming with ideas. There were numerous aspects we longed to explore in Season 1, but due to time constraints, we decided to save them for later. The specifics are yet to be finalized, but it’s an incredibly thrilling possibility! Frankly, I don’t think anyone anticipated the early renewal, so it’s a truly exhilarating prospect.
Lilla remarked that the team has gained significant insights into crafting the show and pushing boundaries in its structure. This knowledge may lead to discovering new approaches when revisiting abandoned worlds, characters, or plotlines. They’ve noticed that certain formulas work well, experimenting with various tones is effective, and introducing new nefarious characters weekly has proven successful. Consequently, they enter Season 2 with a sense of assurance and a wealth of creative ideas.
When does Season 2 of Poker Face premiere?
The television series Poker Face hasn’t specified a launch date for its second season as of now, having started filming during the summer. However, given the circumstances, it seems likely that viewers won’t get to watch new episodes before the year 2025.
In the meantime, stream all 10 episodes of the first season right here on Peacock!
