Poonam Dhillon seeks Arshad Warsi's clarification on his 'joker' comment about Prabhas; says he should 'undo the hurt...'

As a seasoned veteran of the entertainment industry with decades of experience under my belt, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent controversy surrounding Arshad Warsi’s comments about Prabhas’ performance in Kalki 2898 AD. Being president of CINTAA myself, I understand the importance of maintaining unity within our vast and diverse family that is the film industry.

Arshad Warsi’s comments about Prabhas’ performance in Kalki 2898 AD have sparked a significant debate among fans and critics alike. Following this, Vishnu Manchu, head of MAA (Movie Artiste Association), has written a letter to the president of CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association), Poonam Dhillon, expressing concern over Warsi’s remarks. In turn, veteran actress Poonam Dhillon has requested a response from Arshad Warsi to address the issue at hand.

In a talk with Hindustan Times, Poonam Dhillon, head of CINTAA, acknowledged that Arshad Warsi’s recent statements have sparked some discord, particularly within the Telugu film industry. As a result, they are preparing to reach out to Warsi and gather his thoughts on the matter.

Upon receiving a correspondence from Vishnu Manchu, president of MAA, I found myself expressing my worries about the unity within our film industries. Moreover, it was crucial to clarify that Arshad’s recent remarks were not aimed at Prabhas.

“Although I think he might not have intended any harm towards Prabhas specifically, it could have been directed at his character in the movie. Regardless, I feel he should clarify his statements to prevent any potential damage to artists within the Telugu film industry. We’re all part of the same profession, so it’s important to maintain harmony and respect.”

Dhillon went on to say that the actor portraying Kalki in 2898 AD is widely regarded as one of the kindest, most respected individuals within the industry. She made it clear that she had no intention of causing him any harm. The veteran actress emphasized that all entertainment industries form a collective whole, and this incident should not lead to discord or tension between them.

Beyond this point, Poonam added that they would allow Arshad to express his stance, as I couldn’t possibly voice his thoughts. On a final note, as a follower and admirer, I hope, as an actor, he won’t make such remarks about someone so highly esteemed and cherished, said Dhillon, who is also anticipated to reply to Manchu’s letter.

In simpler terms, if someone is not familiar, Manchu wrote to Poonam Dhillon suggesting that CINTAA advise Warsi to avoid making disrespectful comments about other actors in future. He emphasized the significance of upholding dignity and respect for colleagues, regardless of regional connections, and reminded everyone that the film industry is a big family bonded by a common love for cinema.
