Hollywood-caliber figure Poonam Dhillon has experienced a burglary at her Khar residence. The incident resulted in the loss of approximately Rs. 125,000 in jewelry, Rs. 35,000 cash, and USD 42,923. The culprit was identified as a member of a painting team that had been working on Dhillon’s house during the holiday season. In her initial statement following the break-in, Dhillon expressed shock, stating that it was unsettling to realize someone had entered her home and taken her possessions. This incident left her feeling fearful.
According to an interview with Hindustan Times, Poonam Dhillon stated that no family members were around when the theft occurred. Instead, construction work was ongoing, with staff overseeing the tasks. It wasn’t until they noticed missing items that they understood a burglary had happened and swiftly contacted the authorities about it.
Living in Juhu, Mumbai, the actress shared that her son, the actor Anmol Dhillon, occasionally visits their apartment in Khar. When the burglary occurred, the household staff was supervising construction work at the time. She hinted that one of the workers involved with the project could have orchestrated the theft.
In his home, Anmol found out that three workers were there earlier and his valuable possessions were gone upon his arrival. Acting swiftly, he informed the relevant authorities about the situation, thereby halting any attempts to sell the stolen goods.
After the incident, Poonam appeared noticeably unsettled, voicing her astonishment. She confided, “I’m absolutely stunned. To imagine someone entered your home and took your belongings; it’s hard not to feel frightened. Frankly, I can’t believe this occurred despite so many people supervising the construction process.
On January 6th, police in Khar apprehended Sameer Ansari, aged 37, for suspected involvement in the burglary of valuable belongings from Poonam Dhillon’s residence in Khar West. As per Free Press Journal reports, Ansari allegedly spent the stolen funds on hosting a gathering for his coworkers, who were working at the actress’s home construction site.
