- Poppy Playtime fans can now enjoy the third instalment in the game on mobile
- Chapter 3 launches today for iOS, and sees you explore a decrepit orphanage
- Atypical survival horror with a mascot coat of paint, or blood
As someone who’s spent countless hours navigating through eerie locales and jumping at every creaking sound, I must admit that the release of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 on iOS has me intrigued. Having dabbled a bit in the world of mascot horror, I can appreciate the unique blend of terror and nostalgia it offers.
Enthusiasts of mascot-themed horror will find ample entertainment today as Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 debuts on iOS. This ominous setting takes you through a chilling toy factory, delving beneath it into a dilapidated orphanage. Your mission is to evade some truly menacing toys as you strive to reveal shocking secrets and unravel horrifying mysteries.
In Poppy Playtime, you assume the character of an adventurer who delves into an old, deserted toy factory that houses the famous Poppy Playtime doll. You traverse through this setting with the aid of a peculiar backpack equipped with detachable hands and arms. This backpack is outfitted with several useful attachments for exploration.
Despite being known on its own merit, Poppy Playtime appears to mark a significant shift for many in the mascot horror genre. This term originated because it involves transforming traditionally innocent and cute children’s characters into something menacing. Yet, surprisingly, this twist has not deterred its popularity.
Time to play
To be honest, Poppy Playtime hasn’t really grabbed my attention. While I can understand that breaking up shorter episodes into multiple parts might appeal to some, it feels a bit questionable to me. However, if you’re a fan of this type of content, you’ll likely enjoy it.
