Porsche Celebrates Iberian History with Cuarenta Edition 911

As a long-time Porsche enthusiast and someone who has followed the brand’s journey in Spain and Portugal for decades, I cannot help but be thrilled by the unveiling of the Cuarenta Edition 911 by Porsche Ibérica. Forty years ago, when Porsche established its subsidiary in Spain, it marked a significant milestone in the brand’s history. I remember the excitement and anticipation that came with this new chapter for Porsche in our region.

Porsche Ibérica recently revealed a special “Forty Edition” Porsche 911 to mark its 40th anniversary. This exclusive model boasts distinctive design features influenced by the rich history and culture of Iberia.

In 1984, Porsche shifted from working with an importer in Spain to founding its own subsidiary, named Porsche España, S.A., signifying a fresh phase in its connection with Spanish Porsche fans. To celebrate this significant event, Porsche Ibérica joined forces with Style Porsche and the Special Order Team in Zuffenhausen to develop the Cuarenta Edition.

As a gamer, I can tell you that Porsche joining the Spanish and Portuguese markets as a subsidiary was a game-changer for us. For the past forty years, my team and I have worked tirelessly to bring the best of Porsche to these regions. And what better way to commemorate this milestone than by introducing an exclusive version of our beloved icon, the 911, just for our fans here?

One distinctive feature of the Cuarenta Edition is its unique Quercusverde exterior color, which resembles the holm oak leaves commonly found in Iberian regions. This custom color was specifically created through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s Paint to Sample Plus program. A commemorative logo, designed after the Quercus tree, is meticulously painted by hand on the rear lid grille.

Inside, the opulent two-toned leather upholstery in Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown shines, showcasing the skillful craftsmanship of Spanish saddle makers. The seats boast Tartan fabric inlays with a customized color palette. Additionally, intricate cross-stitching in Crayon and Truffle Brown threads adorns the dashboard and upper door panels, enhancing the vehicle’s refined allure.

I’m thrilled about the enhanced performance of the Cuarenta Edition, which is built on the latest Carrera GTS Coupé. This beauty comes with a T-Hybrid drive system, boasting a powerful 3.6L six-cylinder boxer engine that produces an impressive 398 kW (541 hp). In just 3.0 seconds, it propels from 0 to 60 mph, leaving me amazed with its top speed of 194 mph. Some standard features I look forward to include rear-wheel steering and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), ensuring a smooth and exhilarating ride.

Porsche Ibérica intends to preserve one Cuarenta Edition car as a historical artifact, highlighting the marque’s heritage and connection to its Iberian origins. The exact number of units open for purchase remains undisclosed at present.
