As a die-hard fan who’s been hooked since the early days of “Power,” I can confidently say that the final season of “Power Book II: Ghost” is setting the bar higher than ever for television drama. With its jaw-dropping ratings and record-breaking viewership, it’s clear that this series has captured the hearts and minds of viewers worldwide.
The final season of Power Book II: Ghost will go down as the most watched show ever on Starz.
As the drama nears its final episode on October 4th, it’s attracting an average audience of 10.5 million viewers across all viewing platforms, as measured within 90 days after its premiere. Previously, Starz reported that season five of ‘Power’, the precursor to ‘Ghost’, garnered an average viewership of 10.8 million, but this was calculated over a longer timeframe than the 90-day period in question here.
The Power series saga, spanning four instalments, has consistently broken viewership records on Starz. Its lead show surpassed Spartacus as Starz’s most-watched program back in 2015 and maintained impressive audience numbers throughout its broadcast. Similarly, Ghost (Season III: Raising Kanan) and Book IV: Force, which set a record for the largest opening weekend for any series premiere on the channel, have also garnered significant viewership during their respective runs.
The hit series “Ghost” continues to be a favorite among American audiences with a racial minority background, and globally as well, according to Starz; they report that their subscribers have collectively viewed approximately 1.6 billion hours of the “Power” franchise.
In the series Power Book II: Ghost, Michael Rainey Jr., Mary J. Blige, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Gianni Paolo, Woody McClain, Lovell Adams-Gray, LaToya Tonodeo, Alix Lapri, Larenz Tate, and actors Lightskinkeisha and Michael Ealy are the stars.
In the role as a showrunner for season four, I’ve got the honor to produce alongside the franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp under her End of Episode banner, 50 Cent through G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton via Canton Entertainment. Lionsgate Television is the powerhouse behind producing not just Ghost, but also the other Power series.
