Following Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) defeat in the IPL 2025 Final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), owner Preity Zinta penned a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ message to the fans. In this note, she acknowledged Shreyas Iyer for his leadership, commended the team spirit of the players, and thanked the supporters for their backing throughout the season. In her message, she assured that PBKS will return stronger in the upcoming year.

On her official Instagram account, the actress who starred in Veer Zaara posted, “Though it didn’t conclude as we had hoped, the journey was nothing short of magnificent! It was thrilling, engaging, and incredibly inspiring. I admired the determination and spirit displayed by our young team, our warriors, throughout the tournament. I was impressed by our captain, our village leader, who led from the front, and how Indian unproven players took charge in this IPL!

Speaking about the Punjab Kings’ odyssey, Preity Zinta highlighted how they shattered records, despite enduring a major setback caused by an injury. Labeling 2025 as a ‘special’ year, she emphasized that the team displayed incredible tenacity amidst the shifting of home matches to different states and even a stadium evacuation.

In her words of gratitude, Preity acknowledged each team member, the support staff, and everyone associated with PBKS for a remarkable season. Above all, she offered a heartfelt thank you to the “Sher Squad” – the fans who stood by them through ups and downs. Implying their resurgence, the actress expressed that while they have achieved half of their goal, they are fully committed to seeing it through to completion.

To put it simply, for those not familiar, Royal Challengers Bangalore triumphed over Punjab Kings by a margin of 6 runs. In fact, this was the very first time that their captain, Virat Kohli, led the team to victory and lifted the trophy after a long wait of eighteen years.
