The upcoming series titled “Alien: Earth” is scheduled to debut this summer on both FX and Hulu, although an exact release date has not been confirmed yet. However, the latest teaser trailer offers a chilling journey from the perspective of a Xenomorph that truly lives up to the anticipation generated by its title. The cast includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, and Alex Lawther among others. This new series will act as a prequel to the 1979 film “Alien”, unfolding events two years prior to those on the Nostromo spacecraft.
The latest preview for Alien: Earth (displayed below) follows a xenomorph’s perspective, dashing through a spaceship accompanied by blaring alarms and the ominous phrase “containment breach” reverberating across the communication system. Lights of a fiery hue flash as the beast navigates tight corridors until it collides with an unyielding hull door that ultimately gives way. The camera then spins chaotically, offering us a glimpse of the ship plummeting towards Earth, where its impact is certain to wreak havoc upon the inhabitants and allow more xenomorphs to escape.
The second sneak peek for “Alien: Earth” has been released, and the first one helped us figure out where in the timeline this series is set. Earlier assumptions suggested it was 30 years before the events depicted in the 1979 film, but with a focus on the year 2120, we now understand that it happens just two years before the original “Alien” which unfolded in 2122. The plotline for the show appears straightforward, but as we’ve learned from this franchise, expect nothing to be as it seems, particularly regarding the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
In simpler terms, when an enigmatic spaceship unexpectedly crashes on our planet, a youthful woman encounters an extraordinary find along with a motley crew of military operatives. This revelation forces them into confrontations with Earth’s most dangerous adversary.
‘Alien: Earth’ Will Make You Want to “Lock Your Doors”
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my excitement for “Alien: Earth,” a brilliant creation by Noah Hawley, known for his outstanding work on “Legion” and “Fargo.” Following the massive success of “Alien: Romulus” in 2024, directed by Fede Álvarez, which grossed over $350 million at the box office, making it one of the year’s most terrifying horror hits, this new show has certainly reignited interest in the franchise. What makes it even more intriguing is that it’s the first live-action series to air on television, a significant milestone for the franchise.
Regarding the anticipation for the TV show Alien: Earth, Hawley mentioned last year at the Emmy Awards that the series is heavily emphasizing its horror aspects, to the point where it may prompt viewers to secure their doors at night. Isn’t that something we all tend to do naturally?
The mere thought of encountering a Xenomorph out in the wilds of Earth is downright terrifying. Picture it roaming among us – it’s hard to put into words, but trust me, it will happen one day. I can’t reveal how or when, but rest assured, you’ll see it, and on that night, you’ll make sure your door is securely locked.
Later this year, you can catch the premiere of “Alien: Earth” on both FX and Hulu. Also, don’t forget to stream “Alien: Romulus” which is currently available on Hulu.
