In 2020, Arnould accused Depardieu of sexual assault and rape, claiming that these incidents occurred at Depardieu’s Paris residence in August 2018. Despite denying these accusations, Depardieu was unable to get the court to dismiss the case as he lost his appeal.
To French broadcaster BFMTV, Carine Durrieu-Diebolt, lawyer for Arnould, expressed that the request is a significant stride towards a trial. She emphasized that Arnould is eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the investigation.

This upcoming trial is scheduled to commence in October.
Depardieu maintains his innocence regarding the numerous sexual assault allegations made against him over the past few years. In a letter published in the conservative Le Figaro newspaper last autumn, he proposed that his actions may have been misunderstood.
