- The PUBG Mobile World Cup’s Survival Stage has been dominated by IW NRX
- They’ll be joined by three other qualifying teams in rejoining the main stage
- The Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia has seen major presence from mobile
At the first-ever Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, the PUBG Mobile World Cup has brought equal amounts of excitement outside the game as within. Team IW NRX has been the frontrunner in the Survival Stage, making them the first to qualify and continue their tournament run. Three other teams have also advanced after this initial round.
At the Survival Stage, which we’ve covered previously if you’re new here, the underdogs from the initial bracket fight for a spot in the Main Stage. The victors in this round are DRX, Tong Jia Bao, and Twisted Minds Brazil. They’ll join the 12 teams who have already qualified to compete at the Main Stage. The grand prize at stake? An impressive $3m reward.
At the Main Stage, the final leg of the PUBG Mobile World Cup is just around the corner. For those eager to witness the pinnacle of competition, mark your calendars from July 26th to 28th. The last 16 teams will go head-to-head during this period.
To the top
The Esports World Cup has drawn some prominent gamers, with mobile gaming making a significant impact. However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing – there are challenges, such as the competition being held in a country that hasn’t yet developed a large esports community despite being halfway around the world.
But, if the Esports World Cup succeeds, it could change all of that.
