“Storytelling and fighting aren’t so different. Both are about conflict, struggle, and heart.”
According to former UFC fighter turned actor Michael Bisping, he announces the introduction of his production company, Punch It Films. This dynamic studio is slated for its debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and guarantees a blend of swift filmmaking, panache, and (of course) some action-packed fights.
Located in Los Angeles, the film production company Punch It Films, established by writer-director Nika Agiashvili, producer John Edward Lee, actor George Finn, and Bisping, assures strong connections within the international Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) community.
The studio’s first project, “Atlas King,” starts production in Los Angeles this summer.

The movie features Bisping in the role of a retired fighter who goes back home for his best friend’s funeral and to resolve past disagreements. He reconnects with his godson (Finn), who has become involved in illegal activities, to take down a powerful local crime boss. Joining them are Sarah Wayne Callies, known from “The Walking Dead,” as well as Anne Winters, a former cast member of “13 Reasons Why.
Punch It Films boasts two vital elements that could contribute to its success. The link to Mixed Martial Arts is significant, as fight enthusiasts often exhibit a fervor for the sport that might convert into box office revenue. Moreover, several MMA fighters have substantial social media followings, which they could utilize to promote their projects and generate interest.
Currently, it’s an opportune moment for those involved in the genre movie industry. Streaming platforms are constantly on the lookout for fresh content. With the overwhelming news headlines, viewers are seeking a means of escape. Unfortunately, Hollywood often struggles with excessive production costs.
The forthcoming “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” faces a challenging prospect of generating profits, given its staggeringly high production cost, estimated at approximately $400 million.
If Punch It Films creates action-packed films with a focus on intense fights, they may thrive in an unstable movie industry.
