Punch Out: CCG Duel is now Fist Out, slated to arrive this week

  • Punch Out is now Fist Out!
  • Name may be changed but the game is still the same
  • Pick from over 700 cards, duke it out in 500 single player levels and take on fast-paced PvP

A name can sometimes be quite intriguing. It often reveals much about an individual or topic. In the case of Punch Out: CCG Duel, it comes perilously close to a well-known boxing simulation starring Iron Mike. Thankfully, this seems to have been rectified as Punch Out has now been rebranded as Fist Out!

For those eagerly anticipating the deckbuilding card battler by Goat Games, there’s no cause for concern as it’s still set to launch on April 9th. On this day, you’ll have the chance to pick from a range of fantasy races and strategize with more than 300 cards.

Fist Out stands out due to its blend of tactical RPG combat and extensive character personalization. It offers eight campaigns with a grand total of 500 levels, ensuring ample opportunities for exploration without requiring engagement in the PvP mode. However, if you decide to participate, Fist Out guarantees swift, two-minute duels designed to test the mettle of even the most avid collectible card game enthusiasts.

Name’s the same

It’s refreshing to notice Punch Out rebranding, strangely enough. I sensed that the original name didn’t quite capture the quality of what appears to be an impressively crafted card battler. It gave the impression that it was relying too heavily on its past fame for something completely new and different. If this had continued, it could have been unfortunate if recognition rather than quality became the primary focus.

Although the title “Fist Out” may not immediately conjure up images of fantasy in my mind, it by no means diminishes the array of cards, graphics, diverse hero options, and other intriguing elements that make it an exciting game worth keeping an eye on.
