- Puzzle Maniac is an upcoming mobile indie project
- Play over ten different varieties of puzzles in your quest to save the princess
- Relatively simple, but not shallow, is this the next home-grown success story?
As a seasoned gamer with decades of puzzle-solving under my belt, I must admit that Puzzle Maniac piqued my interest. With its ten distinct varieties of puzzles and the promise to save a princess, it harkens back to a simpler era of gaming, one where the challenge wasn’t just to swipe and tap but to think and strategize.
There are countless puzzle games available these days, leading one to think we’d be brimming with geniuses by now. However, it appears that many of these brainpower points get channeled towards playing Candy Crush instead of, for instance, designing a rocket ship. Nevertheless, there’s no better moment than the present to join the fray, and today’s focus is on an upcoming indie venture called Puzzle Maniac.
Puzzle Maniac could be aptly characterized as straightforward yet captivating. It might not boast the sleekest design or offer intricate gameplay, but it excels in enthusiasm and evokes a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of puzzles from the early 2000s. However, it appears that some AI-generated artwork has overshadowed this retro charm to some extent.
Despite some machine-generated content, you’ll find a fair amount of engaging user-created material here as well. With ten distinct puzzles available for play, there’s a good deal of variety to keep things interesting. As of now, Puzzle Maniacs is in its early development phase, and the developer has kindly shared a sneak peek with us, aiming for a release in November this year.
I’m not so sure
Certainly, we wouldn’t make it available if there wasn’t some potential to explore it. If the trailer didn’t capture your interest, don’t forget to visit the game’s itch.io page to check out the demo. There, you can download the APK and test it out for free. It might just be that we’re celebrating Puzzle Maniac’s triumphant success in a few months!
