Many people who are following our real-time coverage of 2025 CinemaCon likely witnessed the impressive ensemble cast from James Gunn’s Superman, gathered together for the first time on stage. It was enjoyable seeing everyone, but Rachel Brosnahan captured the attention, even without needing a cape – she just dazzled in an exceptional newspaper-style dress!
At Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Big Picture” gathering held at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, the actress portraying Lois Lane made an appearance donning a dress that echoed the ambiance of the Daily Planet. Fans swiftly recognized this subtle reference as she posed alongside co-stars Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet, James Gunn, and Peter Safran. Take a look at how she jumped on the coordinated outfits trend in the image below!
Brosnahan shines brilliantly as the main focus, adorning a snug mini-dress entirely embellished with newspaper-style patterns and headlines. The CinemaCon images brought immense pleasure when they began circulating, as many admirers pointed out the strong resemblance to the timeless essence of Lois Lane.
The dress was strikingly similar to what could appear in one of Gunn’s upcoming DC films, boasting vibrant, retro newspaper-style designs with phrases such as “Go-Go with Galliano” and “Gossip…Woodie’s Wardrobe Whispers.” These were accompanied by illustrations that wouldn’t seem out of place on a Daily Planet cover. Although it wasn’t an official costume, the ensemble perfectly fit her eagerly awaited role as Superman’s well-known journalistic companion. It’s likely that imitations will emerge following this appearance.
The gathering represented a unique occasion where the main cast of “Superman” assembled publicly for the first time. Brosnahan was accompanied by Hoult, taking on the part of Lex Luthor, and David Corenswet, who will put on the cape to portray Clark Kent/Superman. Additionally, James Gunn and producer Peter Safran were present, as Warner Bros. aims to generate even more anticipation than what’s already building for their 2025 film debut.
At the recent DC showcase, I had the pleasure of previewing some thrilling new clips from their upcoming movie that was brimming with excitement and humor. While some scenes were reminiscent of the initial trailer released months ago, the extended preview took it a step further, focusing on a moment fans would recall – Krypto swooping in to rescue Superman. However, this time around, we got a taste of Krypto’s electrifying antics, transforming a routine rescue into a string of hilarious instances that had me laughing out loud!
Regarding the numerous superhero films set to release this year, my anticipation is growing increasingly intense for this fresh interpretation of Superman, specifically Man of Steel. A significant factor fueling my excitement is the impressive casting choices, with Brosnahan’s portrayal of Lois Lane generating buzz about what her rendition will contribute to Gunn’s DC universe reboot. Known for her ability to embody strong, resolute, and fearless characters on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, it seems that Brosnahan also possesses a keen fashion sense, adding another layer of intrigue to her Lois Lane character.
Rachel Brosnahan and her co-stars will be heavily promoting the movie in various locations as it premieres in theaters on July 11, 2025.
