Rahul Bose admits rejecting films with bad co-actors for THIS reason; reveals asking director to not use scenes when they don’t act well: ‘Bahut mehnat karna padta hai’

As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the arts, I must commend Rahul Bose for his unwavering commitment to quality and integrity in his craft. His decision to reject roles with subpar co-actors and his dedication to elevating even the most struggling performers is a testament to his professionalism and passion for storytelling.

Experienced performer Rahul Bose, who graced the screens of ZEE5 with the series “Berlin” this month, boasts a long list of film credits including “Pyaar Ke Side Effects,” “Shaurya,” “Neeyat,” “Dil Dhadakne Do,” “Chameli,” and “Jhankaar Beats.” He also appeared in the 2020 release, “Bulbbul,” alongside Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary. In a recent disclosure, Rahul spoke about turning down roles due to subpar co-stars and expressed that he often requests his directors to omit scenes when their acting falls short. The talented star of “Berlin” admitted that such situations require him to put in extra effort.

In a recent chat on Siddharth Kanan’s podcast on YouTube, Rahul Bose openly discussed working alongside actors whom he feels lack acting skills.

When asked if he turns down a role upon learning that his co-star is not skilled, Rahul explained that he frequently voices his opinion to the producers about his co-star’s lack of talent during casting discussions. However, if the producers disagree and believe otherwise, Rahul decides to exit the project, as the senior actor noted.

Rahul further explained that he disagrees with ventures like Dil Dhadakne Do since the actor feels the movie won’t prosper if a mediocre performer is cast. Reflecting on his professional journey, Rahul shared, “I’ve had to exert considerable effort when working alongside such actors, and I have indeed done so during my career.

The actor from Jhankaar Beats often asks his co-stars to practice lines with him, making them think that he lacks confidence in his own dialogues. However, these actors are unaware that he does this intentionally to improve the scene. According to him, they believe they’re helping him, but in reality, he is the one benefiting from their rehearsals.

Rahul mentioned that if he comes across a performer who struggles with acting, even after rehearsals, he advises the director to exclude their scene from the production. However, it should be noted that he only takes this approach with performers who are not established stars.

In the same interview, actor Rahul Bose spoke about working alongside Triptii Dimri on the set of Anushka Sharma’s production, Bubbul. During this conversation, he discussed the challenging rape scene they filmed together. The seasoned actor described it as a tough experience, admitting that he transformed into something like a wild beast during filming. He advised Triptii to use the safety word ‘Rahul’ if she ever felt uncomfortable or distressed while shooting, assuring her that he would immediately halt the scene once he heard that phrase spoken aloud.

In addition to his work on Mumbai Matinee, Dil Kabaddi, Vishwaroopam, Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii, 15 Park Avenue, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Tahaan, I Am, Midnight Children, and various other productions, Rahul Bose gained attention for his role in Zoya Akhtar’s 2016 film Dil Dhadakne Do. In this movie, he portrayed Priyanka Chopra’s on-screen husband, Manav, who was a subject of conversation during the film’s release, due to his portrayal of a chauvinistic character.

More recently, Rahul made an appearance in Atul Sabharwal’s production titled “Berlin.” In this show, he portrayed Sondhi, a character who was an intelligence officer. Alongside him, notable actors such as Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh, Anupriya Goenka, and Kabir Bedi played significant roles. The series had its premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles in 2023. Since September 13, 2024, viewers can enjoy watching it on ZEE5.
