Raima Sen reacts for the FIRST TIME after dad Bharat Dev Varma’s demise, gets emotional: ‘Words fall short of…’

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for family dynamics and a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of India’s royal lineage, I find myself deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Bharat Dev Varma. His life, marked by royal bloodlines and a loving family, serves as a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of our existence.

Bharat Dev Varma, husband of actress Moon Moon Sen and father of actresses Raima and Riya Sen, tragically passed away at his home in Kolkata on November 19, 2024. According to ANI, Bharat’s health rapidly declined, causing his family to call for an ambulance from a local hospital in the Dhakuria area. Unfortunately, he succumbed before the ambulance could arrive. In the days following her father’s death, Raima shared her initial thoughts on Instagram.

Raima Sen posted some previously unshared images of her dad, accompanied by a touching message, explaining that no words could truly convey the greatness of Bharat Dev Varma as a father and husband.

The message conveyed, “Currently, Daddy can’t write anything. However, words can’t express how incredible a father and husband you have been. For now, I hope you’re happy wherever you are, and continue to live grandly as you always did. I will miss you dearly and love you forever.

The article showcased two old photos of the deceased Verma, while in the following image, he’s depicted cradling a young Raima.

Bharat Dev Varma hails from a once-noble family that ruled over Tripura. His mother, Ila Devi, was a royal princess from Cooch Behar and the elder sibling to Jaipur’s Maharani Gayatri Devi. His grandmother, Indira, was the sole daughter of Searji Rao Gaikwad III, who reigned as the Maharaja of Vadodara.

In 1978, Bharat wed Moon Moon Sen, a renowned actress in Bengali films. Moon Moon, who traced her roots to nobility, was the daughter of the esteemed Bengali actress Suchitra Sen and Dibanath Sen, a wealthy entrepreneur from Kolkata.

Her ancestors held significant ties to Tripura’s royal lineage. Specifically, her great-grandfather, Dinanath Sen, was a prominent figure, serving as the Minister to the King of Tripura.

Following her marriage and the arrival of her daughters, Moon Moon saw a prosperous phase in her acting career. Her initial appearance on screen was in the movie “Andar Baahar”, where her daring portrayal drew substantial notice.

In the span of her acting profession, she showcased her talents in over 60 movies and 40 TV shows, collecting multiple accolades such as the Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
