Rajkummar Rao gives major update on Stree 3 co-starring Shraddha Kapoor and it’s not what you expected to hear: ‘Don’t want…’

As a die-hard fan who has followed Rajkummar Rao’s career since his debut, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and disappointment upon hearing about Stree 3. On one hand, it’s heartening to know that the team is committed to delivering a quality product rather than rushing into a sequel. But on the other, the wait seems endless!

The second installment of the horror-comedy “Stree 2,” featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, directed by Amar Kaushik, created a splash in global markets upon its August 15, 2024 release. Excited fans have been anticipating news about a follow-up, but Rajkummar Rao has recently provided an important update on “Stree 3” – and it’s not the positive news they were hoping for. He confirmed that the production of “Stree 3” won’t be starting ‘anytime in the near future’.

In a recent conversation with News18, Rajkummar Rao gave an update on Stree 3, hinting that it’s in the works but won’t be arriving anytime soon. “Stree 3 will certainly happen but not anytime soon,” he said.

He went on to clarify that the team prioritizes rectifying any issues over hastily producing a follow-up for the sake of profiting from the movie’s success. Using the example of the six-year interval between Stree and Stree 2, he underscored the significance of dedicating the necessary time to craft a top-notch production.

The actor from “The Vicky Vidya Ka Wala Video” made it clear that although Stree 3 is in the works, it won’t take as long as six years like its previous installment. He emphasized that the team, including director Amar Kaushik, producer Dinesh Vijan, and the writers, are dedicated to creating an exceptional storyline for the sequel.

The objective is to proceed with caution on the project, preserving the franchise’s high-quality standards. It’s crucial for our team to strive for innovation and elevate the third installation to unprecedented levels.

Discussing the cherished character Vicky, Rajkummar shares that this role is close to his own heart. He identifies strongly with Vicky’s quirky, innocent personality, mentioning that much like his character, he too possesses a pure heart and appreciates spending carefree moments with friends. Yet, he jokes that unlike Vicky, falling in love with a ghost isn’t on his immediate agenda any time soon.

As we move towards next year, Rajkummar Rao expresses optimism that it will be as successful as this one for him. He plans to keep accepting demanding roles that test his abilities, while also venturing into more comedy projects. He stresses that bringing laughter to people is no small task.

Professionally speaking, the actor found himself quite occupied last year, featuring in Stree 2, Srikanth, Mr & Mrs Mahi, and Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Who Wala Video. He’s currently finished filming for Maalik, which is set to be his upcoming movie on the big screen.
