Rajpal Yadav’s Shahjahanpur property sealed by CBI over unpaid loan of more than Rs 11 crore; know DETAILS

As a long-time follower and admirer of Rajpal Yadav’s work, it is disheartening to see him embroiled in yet another financial controversy. It seems that bad luck, or perhaps poor money management, has followed this talented actor for quite some time now.

Rajpal Yadav is currently facing a new round of problems as reports suggest that his property in Shahjahanpur, situated in Seth Enclave Colony close to Kachhari, has been locked by the Central Bank of India. The issue stems from an outstanding loan of approximately Rs 3 crore that he took out while pledging this very property, which remains unpaid. This information was initially published in Free Press Journal.

It’s been proposed that Rajpal Yadav set up a production company under his parents’ name, using his own assets as collateral. This company, Shri Naurang Godavari Entertainment Limited, is legally owned by his wife, Radha Yadav. The production house produced a film featuring numerous local artists from Shahjahanpur, with Rajpal and the late actor Om Puri in leading roles.

The loan was taken from the Central Bank of India’s Mumbai branch at Bandra Kurla Complex and after a long time of non-payment, the loan amount has now reached Rs 11 crore. The report further suggested that on August 8, some officials of CBI’s Mumbai team arrived in Shahjahanpur and sealed Yadav’s property without the involvement or information to local police and officials.

1. The sealing was done so covertly that they accidentally locked the main gate while rushing to complete it, leaving the cooler running. Peculiarly, on Monday, there was no evidence of a notice stating the bank’s claim over the property being posted. It is rumored that despite the CBI’s prior request for security assistance, local police did not intervene in the matter.

In response to questions about CBI’s Mumbai team participating in a sealing operation, their local branch manager, Manoj, affirmatively confirmed this information. On the other hand, the Bank’s District Rural Manager in Bareilly, SK Sabharwal, chose not to comment on the matter according to FPJ. As of now, Rajpal Yadav has yet to make any statement regarding the issue.

For those not familiar, this isn’t Yadav’s first brush with such difficulties. In fact, back in 2010, he took a loan of Rs 5 crore from Madhav Gopal Agrawal, the director of Murli Projects Private Limited, to finance his movie Ata Pata Laapata. Unfortunately, he was unable to return the borrowed amount, and it grew to an outstanding debt of Rs 10 crores.

It’s surprising to learn that an issue with a bounced check led Rajpal to spend time in prison. Subsequently, the Karkardooma Court in Delhi mandated Yadav to repay an enormous sum of 14 crores to resolve the conflict.
