Rakesh Roshan reveals he feared getting k*lled by own security guards after 2000 shootout incident; ‘If someone wants to harm…’

In a recent reminiscence, acclaimed actor and director Rakesh Roshan shared a harrowing event from his past that felt like a nightmare to him. He confessed that he once harbored the chilling fear of being assassinated by his own security detail, expressing this sentiment: “Even when you’re surrounded by numerous security personnel, you remain an exposed target. If someone intends to do you harm, the security won’t be able to prevent it.

During a chat with ANI, Rakesh Roshan shared an interesting detail: after the incident, he was given bodyguards with weapons for safety. But instead of feeling protected, he confessed that he often lives in apprehension, worrying that his guards might unintentionally hurt him or discharge their firearms mistakenly.

Roshan voiced his apprehensions regarding his personal safety, even with security personnel nearby. He clarified that the presence of numerous guards couldn’t guarantee protection against someone who aims to do harm, as their efforts might not be enough to prevent it.

After the 2000 event, the director was given two armed security guards to accompany him in the backseat. Instead of providing a sense of safety, this setup made him more anxious.

Rakesh confessed that he was always anxious about the possibility that if an incident occurred, the guards armed with weapons near him might unintentionally hurt him instead.

Apart from mentioning that Roshan felt “extremely confined” by constant security, you could also say he described it as making him feel “very claustrophobic.” During his strolls on the beach, guards would stay close behind him, which only intensified this sensation of being enclosed. Over time, this unusual existence began to wear him down, leading him to ask for his security detail to be removed.

During his strolls on the beach, having the two guards around made him ponder about the circumstances. In the end, he requested that they remove the security detail, stating that he felt comfortable without it and could handle any challenges that might arise on his own.

Rakesh Roshan has been the director of many famous films throughout his career, including Khoon Bhari Maang, Karan Arjun, and Koyla, which featured Shah Rukh Khan. He has also worked alongside his son, Hrithik Roshan, on projects like Koi… Mil Gaya and the Krrish series. A docu-series called The Roshans, starring Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, and Rajesh Roshan, has recently been released on Netflix.
