Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of Ramayana is eagerly awaited among viewers this year. The film boasts a talented cast with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, and Sunny Deol assuming the role of Lord Hanuman. Furthermore, Kajal Aggarwal has been brought on board to play Mandodari, who is Raavan’s wife, further enhancing the star-studded cast.
To accurately portray Mandodari’s character in the Ramayana and seek an actress who could convincingly play Yash’s Ravana counterpart, the production team was eager to cast a widely recognized actress whose popularity spans throughout India.
After carefully evaluating several prominent candidates hailing from Bollywood as well as regional cinemas, the team ultimately chose Kajal Aggarwal for the part. This decision was primarily based on her substantial fan following and wide recognition in both the northern and southern film industries.
Delighted to share an exclusive piece of news I’ve just learned about! As of April 30, 2025, I’m thrilled to report that Yash has officially joined the Ramayana sets and commenced filming his role as Raavan. A trusted insider from the project revealed that he will be shooting for approximately a month, with scenes spanning across both Part One and selected parts of Part Two.
It’s said that he started shooting individual scenes initially, and later plans to transition into group scenes featuring Sai Pallavi (portraying Sita), Ranbir Kapoor (in the role of Lord Ram), and Sunny Deol (as Lord Hanuman).
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! Just two weeks from now, the principal photography for Ramayana: Part One is set to wrap up. After that, the talented team will undoubtedly carry on their exceptional work on the sequel without a hitch. For those who might be unfamiliar, Ramayana: Part One is planned for release over the Diwali 2026 weekend, with Part Two following suit around Diwali 2027. I can hardly wait!
It’s said that the creators aim to finish shooting both parts of the Ramayana by the end of this year, and once that’s done, they’ll move on to a detailed post-production process.
A person with knowledge about the project revealed that the movie’s purpose is to bring Indian mythology to life on a worldwide screen. Moreover, people who have already seen the previews find it breathtakingly unique, labeling it as an extraordinary visual extravaganza.
