One of the highly-awaited films in Bollywood, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor as the main character, began filming around April 2024. Now, more than a year later, it appears that fans’ patience may be rewarded soon. Reports indicate that the first glimpse of this grand production could be unveiled at an upcoming grand event.
Based on a recent article from Bollywood Hungama, it appears that the creators of Ramayana will unveil the film’s first official sneak peek at the forthcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, also known as WAVES.
For those unfamiliar, an exciting affair called WAVES is scheduled from May 1st to May 4th, 2025, at Jio World Center in Mumbai. Several notable figures from the film world are anticipated to attend this event. It has been confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor and producer Namit Malhotra will indeed be present.
From me, the die-hard fan here, I’m thrilled to bits! The source hinted that the Ramayana team is planning to reveal some exciting updates at this upcoming event. This means they get an incredible stage to present their masterpiece and draw in lots of viewers, which is fantastic news for us fans! Plus, it seems WAVES will also reap the benefits with all the extensive media coverage. Can’t wait to see what unfolds!
The report hinted at the possibility of unveiling a teaser from the eagerly anticipated film. Nevertheless, it’s important to remember that these plans are still underway, and a definitive choice has not been made yet.
In November 2024, producer Namit Malhotra officially revealed the release dates for the two-part production of Ramayana. In a post, he stated, “Come with us as we strive to bring our most cherished epic to life with dignity and respect… Part 1 will premiere during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

Nitesh Tiwari’s film adaptation of the Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor taking on the character of Lord Rama. In this production, Sai Pallavi will depict Maa Sita, while Yash assumes the role of Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, and many more talented actors.
