I’ve embarked on the exciting journey of filming Ramayana, a highly anticipated project, right here in bustling Mumbai. Stepping into the formidable role of Ravana, I’m ready to bring my commanding screen presence to life, under the visionary direction of Nitesh Tiwari. As KGF’s star, I can’t wait to contribute to this grand epic that promises to captivate audiences across India and beyond.
The highly anticipated film Ramayana continues to generate excitement, as Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi have already finished shooting certain scenes in Mumbai. Now, Yash, who is not only an actor but also a producer, has commenced filming his character as Ravana within the city.
As per the latest news, Yash commenced filming for ‘Ramayana – Part 1’ in Mumbai on February 21, after spending two days fitting costumes. The main emphasis of this shooting schedule is on intense war sequences, with crucial battle scenes being captured at Aksa Beach.
Later, more filming will take place at a studio in Dahisar for extra scenes. It’s been disclosed that the battle sequences are being meticulously designed, showcasing Ravana’s strategic genius. These scenes incorporate real-world action with green screen technology, requiring extensive VFX work.
In this segment, Ranbir Kapoor will not appear because it does not feature the famous battle between Ram and Ravana; however, other notable actors are participating along with Yash during filming.
Previously, it was exclusively disclosed by TopMob that Ranbir is said to have completed approximately 90% of his scenes for Ramayana: Part One. A source shared that he invested a great deal of effort into mastering his role as Lord Ram, collaborating closely with director Nitesh Tiwari and the production team. This close partnership allowed the filming to advance more swiftly than anticipated.
Under the guidance of director Nitesh Tiwari, the epic tale of Ramayana is set to unfold over two installments. The initial portion is scheduled for premiere on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027. This highly-anticipated film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol, and Indira Krishna in significant roles.
Created by DNEG, this project is generating a lot of buzz due to the collaboration of Academy Award-winning composers AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer on its soundtrack, ensuring a thrilling aural adventure.
