‘Ranbir Kapoor did very well’ says Sonu Sood as he reacts to comparisons of Fateh’s action sequences with Animal; ‘In a single shot…’

As a seasoned film enthusiast with over two decades of experience in the Indian film industry, I must say that Sonu Sood’s debut as a director with “Fateh” is nothing short of impressive. His ability to transition seamlessly from acting to directing showcases his versatility and dedication to the craft.

Having worked alongside some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, I can attest to Sonu’s knack for identifying and nurturing talent. In “Fateh,” he has managed to bring together an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.

I was particularly intrigued by the similarities between “Fateh” and Ranbir Kapoor’s film, “Animal.” While I admit that some may find it odd, I understand Sonu’s practical decision to reuse masked fighters due to logistical constraints. After all, in this business, we often find ourselves juggling multiple projects simultaneously, and making the most of available resources is essential.

The trailer for “Fateh” promises an action-packed ride, with high-energy performances by Sonu and Jacqueline that have already garnered positive reactions from fans. I can’t wait to see what other surprises this film has in store when it hits theaters on January 10, 2025.

I must also mention that Ranbir Kapoor is a rising star in Bollywood, with an impressive lineup of upcoming films including “Love & War,” “Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part Ramayana,” “Dhoom 4,” and “Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park.” It will be fascinating to see how these projects shape his career in the coming years.

In closing, I would like to add a little humor – it seems that Sonu Sood and Ranbir Kapoor are both on a mission to take over Bollywood one action-packed film at a time! Let’s just hope they don’t start competing for the title of “Action King”!

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I not only star in the pulse-pounding action-thriller Fateh but also step into the director’s chair for the first time. The trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse of adrenaline-fueled action sequences, with some discerning eyes drawing parallels to Animal, featuring the talented Ranbir Kapoor. I couldn’t help but express my admiration for Ranbir’s performance, stating, “Ranbir truly delivered.” In an innovative move, we decided to reuse the faces of the fighters under masks for subsequent action sequences, which may have contributed to the perceived similarity between our films.

In a candid conversation with India Today Digital, Sonu Sood graciously accepted feedback and offered insights about the artistic decisions and practical limitations that influenced the scenes’ development.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must say that the actor-director’s appreciation for Animal and Ranbir Kapoor’s performances in the movie left me thoroughly impressed. What truly captured my attention was the exhilarating action scenes. On the topic of masked fighters, Sood made it clear that this choice was not solely driven by creativity, but was a practical decision necessitated by the demands of the production.

In simpler terms, Sonu Sood shared that it was difficult for them to find approximately 70-80 action performers for three intense fight scenes. One scene required his character to appear as if killing 70 individuals. However, due to a lack of available fighters for the subsequent sequences, they opted to reuse the same performers wearing masks in those scenes, since their faces had already been shown previously.

He continued by stating that although there might be similarities drawn to Animal, the choice was primarily based on technical requirements. Fighters hailing from Mexico and South Africa were secured, and it wasn’t viable to find replacements in such a short timeframe. Consequently, using the existing fighters proved to be the most practical solution.

Responding to feedback about the movie’s thrilling action sequences, Sonu Sood justified the style, emphasizing how modern viewers are increasingly preferring intense, high-risk action.

He pointed out that nowadays, people seem to appreciate intense or graphic scenes, but he stressed the importance of presenting them in a sophisticated manner, with exceptional skill and a grounding in authenticity. Furthermore, he mentioned his aim was to capture the action sequences in such a way they would appear original and invigorating.

Previously, the creators of Fateh unveiled an enthralling and action-packed teaser for their upcoming movie. In this preview, Sonu Sood assumes the role of a man with a questionable past, setting out on a quest to save Jacqueline Fernandez from a dangerous Chinese cyber-crime syndicate masterminded by Naseeruddin Shah.

The trailer is brimming with intense action and brutal violence, culminating in a powerful scene where Sood, drenched in blood, pulls an opponent using a hammer. Both Sonu and Jacqueline are depicted in high-octane action sequences, and their screen chemistry has been warmly appreciated by fans.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as this upcoming film marks Sood’s directorial debut! Produced by the legendary Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios, with additional production by Ajay Dhama, it promises to be nothing short of extraordinary. The stellar cast includes Vijay Raaz, Naseeruddin Shah, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya, making this a must-watch for me! Mark your calendars, as we’ll be graced with its presence in theaters on January 10, 2025. Can’t wait to experience this cinematic masterpiece!

In contrast, Ranbir Kapoor is due to appear next in the film “Love & War” by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This production also features Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The movie’s premiere is scheduled for March 20, 2025, in cinemas.

Apart from that, Nitesh Tiwari is planning to release his two-part adaptation of the Ramayana, a grand production. This epic tale features Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Yash from KGF in significant roles, along with several other talented actors. The first and second parts of Ramayana are set to premiere in cinemas during Diwali festivities in 2026 and 2027 respectively. Furthermore, his upcoming projects include Dhoom 4 and Animal Park, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
