Ranveer Singh’s superhero film adapted from Shaktimaan to feature Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead role? Here’s what we know

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates about Wamiqa Gabbi, an actress who’s been creating quite a stir online, particularly after her collaboration with Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh in Baby John. You might recall our exclusive announcement about her landing a role in Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla. Now, here comes the latest scoop: it appears that Wamiqa will be gracing our screens alongside Ranveer Singh in an upcoming superhero project, inspired by the legendary character Shaktimaan!

As per a report from Mid-Day, it appears that Wamiqa Gabbi is strongly considered for a role in Basil Joseph’s upcoming Bollywood superhero film, following his success with Minnal Murali. This project, spearheaded by Ranveer Singh, is an adaptation of the legendary Indian superhero, Shaktimaan.

A trustworthy insider has shared with the media outlet that the actress known for her role as Baby John is drawing considerable acclaim for her diverse acting abilities in both Hindi and local films. There are whispers that she may be agreeing to star in a Telugu production alongside Nani.

At the moment, everything is just dialogues, but should the movie become a reality, the collaboration between Wamiqa and Ranveer in Basil’s film could bring new vitality to a project that has been under development for five years. This is according to the source.

According to unconfirmed reports, it appears that the movie is currently being developed, with early production activities taking place. A reliable source mentioned that although his Hindi skills are not advanced, Director Joseph has been working closely with actor Ranveer in Mumbai, rehearsing and discussing details of the project.

After the script has been finished and all dates have been set, this matter will be finalized, the source shared. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently engaged in wrapping up Aditya Dhar’s spy movie. The source mentioned that once March arrives, Singh will redirect his attention to the superhero film.

Significantly, TopMob shared with you last year that Shaktimaan has been in the writing phase for more than 3 years. We also disclosed that the movie, helmed by Basil Joseph, will be co-produced by Sony Pictures India and Sajid Nadiadwala. It is worth mentioning that this film, slated for release in 2026, plans to commence shooting in May 2025.
