Ray Vaughn Announces Debut EP: 'The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu'

As a seasoned gamer of hip-hop music, I must confess that 2024 has been a remarkable year for Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). From ScHoolboy Q to Ab-Soul, Zacari, Doechii, and Alemeda, the label’s roster has delivered an impressive lineup of releases. Now, up-and-coming talent Ray Vaughn is set to round off the year with his debut EP, “The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu.

2024 has undoubtedly been marked by Top Dawg Entertainment, boasting a diverse range of impressive albums from artists like ScHoolboy Q, Zacari, Ab-Soul, and newcomer Doechii’s noteworthy mixtape. Moreover, the label welcomed Alemeda with a strong debut this year. The label’s upcoming talent, Ray Vaughn, is set to round off the year with his first EP.

Titled “The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu“, Vaughn’s inaugural long-form project intends to narrate his professional growth. As indicated in a press release, this project will explore “a range of experiences Vaughn has undergone from adolescence, his artistic journey, culminating in his signing with TDE”. The project musically explores his path, encompassing the challenging periods, unsavory aspects, and triumphs he’s experienced.

Simultaneously, there’s news about the upcoming EP, along with a fresh track from the rapper titled “East Chatt”. This song includes collaboration with fellow artist Isaiah Rashad, who they previously worked with on “Dawg House”.

Pondering what they might be like if they truly cared, they express this sentiment throughout the song. The music video showcases their performance on a festival stage as well as in a high school gym.

The tracklist for “The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu” hasn’t been disclosed as of now, but it is expected to be filled with Vaughn’s popular singles from this year such as “Problems” (featuring Pusha T) and “Everybody Dies” (collaborating with SiR).

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m cranking up “East Chatt” on my Spotify and Apple Music playlist right now, and I’ll be sure to catch you all when Vaughn unveils his latest masterpiece, The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu, later this month. Let the good times roll!
