As a die-hard fan of Jack Reacher and Alan Ritchson, I can’t help but feel a mix of admiration and envy when I see Ritchson’s dedication to his craft. The man is a living embodiment of discipline, constantly pushing himself to the limit to portray our favorite tough-as-nails hero. His 8-word mantra, “Your body is a billboard for your discipline,” resonates deeply with me as I sit on my couch, munching on queso while waiting for the next season of Reacher.
It has been far too long since Jack Reacher beat some dudes to a pulp on my television set. Almost a full calendar year has passed since we wrapped on watching Reacher Season 2, easily one of the best shows available on Prime Video. And while there has been plenty of activity in the world of Reacher, we haven’t received any new episodes to enjoy. We know that Reacher Season 3 will be arriving in 2025, and that it will be an adaptation of the Lee Child book Persuader. But all we are doing is sitting around and waiting, while Reacher star Alan Ritchson spends his off time getting as bulky as possible. Because he needs to look like Reacher. It’s kind of insane.

Alan Ritchson posts on Instagram often. In the above reel, he’s out for a run with his boys. Ritchson takes his fitness routine very seriously. We have written on it often, because it’s so impressive. In the video, Ritchson reveals his 8-word mantra that keeps him focused with regard to his training. He told his followers:
Your body is a billboard for your discipline.
Indeed, it’s evident that Alan Ritchson embraces this idea wholeheartedly and makes it a guiding principle in his life. This philosophy has helped him maintain peak physical condition for his role as Jack Reacher, and even collaborate with action movie legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, not everyone may be able to follow this creed. This is what sets Ritchson apart from others, a fact underscored by the comments on his Instagram posts.
My body is a billboard for queso.
Indeed, I wholeheartedly agree! You see, it’s not just the idea of hill sprints in the scorching heat that resonates with me, but more so the thought of Alan Ritchson leading his kids through such a challenge. That image, my friend, has struck a chord among Alan Ritchson’s followers and Reacher fans alike, evoking both laughter and perhaps a touch of fear. They commented:
Imagine driving down the street and seeing Reacher sprinting. SICK.
I’m unsure about my next steps. There’s a possibility I might curl up in a ball and hope Reacher doesn’t find me. Most of the people responding to Ritchson’s workout post seem to be simply expressing their admiration for the results, as this individual posted.
I love you bro, but the billboard is also screaming “I’m the sauce boss.”
Not a lie. These comments cracked me up. The rest seem to be focused on upcoming seasons of Reacher, and a lot of people want him to step into the role of Batman in James Gunn’s DCU. I can see that. However, I think that we are a long way off from that happening, as Gunn currently is immersed in prepping his Superman movie, and has a full slate of announced projects that likely keep pushing the planned The Brave and the Bold down the line of upcoming DC movies. That just means that Ritchson, if he takes the gig, will have plenty of time to keep playing Jack Reacher. And to keep doing hill sprints. While the rest of us eat queso.
