The final episode of Season 3 for the show Reacher is now available on Prime Video, and it was a fitting end to one of the best seasons so far. Every important character eventually received their due, whether it was good or bad, which made it quite satisfying. Things reached a climax with lots of shooting during Beck’s (Anthony Michael Hall) 50th birthday celebration. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the villains as Quinn’s (Brian Tee) business plans didn’t go exactly as intended.
Upon discovering that the ATF had unwittingly walked into a trap set by Quinn at the scrapyard – a trap meant for Beck – it becomes evident that the buyers weren’t there to acquire any goods. Instead, this was an orchestrated scheme to eliminate Beck and pin all the blame on him, enabling Quinn to flee and restart his criminal activities much like he had done previously. Amidst the chaos, nearly every agent sustained gunshots; however, our protagonists manage to survive due to Reacher’s (Alan Ritchson) and Duffy’s (Sonya Cassidy) diverse set of skills.
At this point, Reacher finds himself at Beck’s residence, handling matters with Paulie (Olivier Richters), while the others attend a gathering. Neagley (Maria Sten) is assigned to monitor Quinn, and Duffy along with Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos) search for Teresa (Storm Steendon) and Richie (Johnny Berchtold). Beck’s role is to stay hidden in the cellar because revealing himself could jeopardize their entire scheme as Quinn thinks he’s deceased. However, it turns out that Beck almost manages to avoid detection until the final moments.
Reacher Finally Takes on Paulie (And Wins)
Paulie Might Be Stronger, but Reacher Is Smarter
Amidst everyone else working on their tasks indoors, the longstanding conflict between Reacher and Paulie escalates dramatically. In an exhilarating action sequence that stood out this season, they engaged in a prolonged confrontation. From their initial encounter at the 18-wheeler to the barn, it appeared as though Reacher might have found his equal. Yet, despite Paulie’s size and strength, Reacher manages to outwit him once more.
As Paulie fastened a chain around my neck, I thought my days were numbered. Yet, somehow, I managed to break free and the battle continued, leading us to the tumultuous waters along the property line. The skirmish persists, and it seems I’ve emerged victorious, but alas, Paulie hasn’t given up. Now out of the water and back on land, we find ourselves face-to-face once more within the house, where a machine gun waits ominously at the front gate.
In another version of events: Neither of them successfully managed to fire at each other first. Later, when Paulie seized the gun, he showcased his physical might before firing, but unfortunately for him, Reacher had already removed a bullet from his belt and jammed it into the weapon’s barrel, causing it to misfire fatally upon discharge. This marked the first victory in their confrontation. Subsequently, Reacher obtained a shotgun, preparing himself for the next challenge of apprehending the villains within the house.
Beck Takes a Stand Against Quinn To Protect His Son
But He Pays the Ultimate Price
With the festivities concluded due to all the gunfire (thanks to everyone), Beck can’t hide anymore since his son is up in the upper levels. Consequently, Beck emerges from the basement to locate him. However, Villanueva did locate Richie, but when the shooting started, they had to split up so Richie could flee the house. Regrettably, before he could exit, Richie encountered Quinn, making Richie a captive of Quinn instead.
After murdering his business partners and swiping their cash, Quinn finds himself in a dangerous predicament, needing Richie’s help and additional firepower if he intends to escape the house safely. In an attempt to secure more weapons at Beck’s office, Quinn encounters Beck, who carries a toy gun that Richie had gifted him for his birthday. Unbeknownst to Quinn, this gun is not real, which leads him to lower his weapon, enabling Richie to visit his father without incident.
Unfortunately, the adhesive on the toy hasn’t completely set yet, causing it to disintegrate, which leads Quinn to grab a gun and murder Beck. Richie manages to lunge for a weapon and fire at Quinn, but all his shots miss him, allowing him to escape. Tragically, Beck succumbs to his injuries in front of his son. In his dying moments, Beck bravely confronts Quinn to shield his child, but he pays the heavy cost of his courage.
Reacher Gets His Vengeance for Dominique
And Everyone Makes It Out Safely
As Quinn tries to flee, the individuals he owes money to arrive at his house, enraged because they haven’t been repaid. In place of their missing funds, they opt to take Quinn’s life instead. However, Reacher negotiates with them and hands over the money that Quinn was trying to steal as part of the deal for returning the cowardly criminal. The Russians accept the offer and keep their word before departing. With the murderer of Dominique (Mariah Robinson) now confronted by Reacher, he is reminded of her name and his identity. Shortly after Quinn recalls these details, Reacher ends his life on the spot, avenging Dominique’s death. The second victory of the day secured.
In Beck’s house, where numerous bodies lay scattered, Duffy ensures Reacher that he’s not accountable for any of it. To the ATF, the Russians are believed to have killed Quinn, and the gunfight was a matter of self-defense. Notably, Teresa is saved and is now happily with her grandmother due to Duffy’s relentless work. However, she decides to leave the DEA following the events, a decision she thinks is appropriate.
At last, Richie manages to drive beyond the gate on his way to freedom, whereas Reacher exits with flair, using a motorcycle he discovered in the garage. Thanks to him, those who should have escaped unharmed did so successfully. As this season concludes, it’s now time for Reacher to seek out another town and fresh crooks to apprehend, a task that the popular wanderer should handle effortlessly.
All three seasons of Reacher are currently streaming on Prime Video.
