Reacher Season 3 Finale: Shocking Death and Behind-the-Scenes Secrets!

Caution: Here come spoilers for the final episode of Season 3 of Reacher! Remember, if you haven’t caught up yet, you can watch it on Amazon Prime.

In the Season 3 finale of Reacher, titled “Unfinished Business”, it was suggested that there was still more to be settled. Yet, in the recently scheduled episode for 2025, it appears that Alan Ritchson’s character conclusively wrapped up all outstanding matters, particularly with Xavier Quinn. Previously, when given the chance to eliminate his adversary, the main character missed the mark. However, in a dramatic turn of events, Brian Tee’s villain met his end spectacularly at the hands of Reacher. The actor portraying the antagonist shared his experience during filming, explaining that they experimented with various techniques and why they eventually achieved a satisfying result.

During my conversation with Brian Tee during the interviews for TopMob’s Reacher series, I asked him about his character’s final moment. More specifically, I pointed out how Reacher shoots Quinn in the cheek and pushes him off a cliff in the flashback of Episode 4, following all the events surrounding Dominique, and contrasted it with this scene where he successfully kills him. In response, Brian shared his thoughts on the portrayal.

In that specific situation, we strive to imitate certain aspects, but it’s important to remember that circumstances can vary greatly. The story, brilliantly crafted by Nick Santora, one of my most esteemed collaborators, carefully constructed the narrative arcs, particularly for Reacher and Quinn, as they embark on this season-long adventure.

In summary, during the final scene, when Taktarov attempted to seize Tee’s character from Reacher, he intervened, pointing out that Quinn belonged to him. Later on, Reacher’s entire team arrived to assist, and they managed to exchange money for the capture of the villain.

In the end, Quinn met his fate immediately following Reacher’s mention of “Dominique,” which took us back to the Dominique Kohl incident and the moment when the main character initially fired at the antagonist in the cheek. However, this time, there was no doubt about the villain’s demise as he was fatally shot in the head, culminating in him collapsing after being hit.

In a breakdown of the final scene, Tee praised the showrunner, director, and Ritchson for their contributions. He mentioned that they experimented with various approaches to determine the most effective dynamics, and emphasized that their effort definitely resulted in success, as he put it.

In getting ready for that final scene, we experimented with various approaches to create diverse tones. I must also acknowledge Alan’s dedication, who always gave his all. We even discussed certain takes and deliberated on the specific moments we aimed to portray. Our focus was sharp and precise.

What really stood out to me was Quinn’s intense close-up at the end, which appeared to show a tear welling up in his eye. It’s uncertain whether it was fear of death or a recollection of his actions towards Dominique, but whatever it was, it added depth to that powerful moment.

To drive the point home, Tee shared with me that collaborating with the entire team was instrumental in making the scene exceptional, and he justly believed they “accomplished it perfectly,” expressing his sentiment thus.

It’s fantastic working with him and Sam [Hill]. With our ongoing collaboration, I believe we hit the mark perfectly, and it all began with the exceptional writing.

In essence, the intense battles such as Reacher’s encounter with Paulie were key elements in creating an impressive finale for the season. This climax effectively linked the events of this mess with Beck and Quinn to a profound, long-standing personal trauma that Reacher experienced earlier in his life.

Excitedly anticipating Season 4 of “Reacher”. The third season significantly bolstered its standing as one of Prime Video’s top-notch series, with significant plot points like Quinn’s demise underscoring the meticulous planning and dedication that goes into crafting each season’s intricate narrative. Consequently, I am eager to discover which villain Alan Ritchson’s Reacher will vanquish in the upcoming episodes, and how spectacularly he will carry out these takedowns.
