This will be the initial spin-off in the “Reacher” franchise, with more anticipated to follow. The studio and streaming platform expressed satisfaction after their recent viewing, and a new synopsis for the series has been revealed by Variety.
Titled “The Neagley Project,” this series revolves around Frances Neagley, a private investigator within Jack Reacher’s circle. When she discovers that a cherished friend from her past has met an unusual demise, she becomes relentless in seeking justice. Drawing on the skills and knowledge gained from Jack Reacher and her experiences as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley embarks on a perilous journey to expose a chilling evil lurking within.
Amazon MGM Studios chief Jennifer Salke announced the order for a new series during the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event in London. During this announcement, actress Frances Fisher (Sten) expressed her excitement to reprise her role as Neagley and take charge of an action-adventure series. Additionally, Sten assured the audience that while the series will be standalone, it will still maintain its Reacher essence.
I adore playing Neagley. She’s full of charm, has a unique quirkiness, and hides depths of complexity. Since my training focuses on character work, I relish the opportunity to delve deeper into her psyche. I’ve read all the books she appeared in and have tried to grasp her essence. The more I explore her, the more excited I am to continue developing her further.
The essence remains ‘Reacher’, offering the usual thrilling action and sharp banter, yet there’s a new flavor that deviates from Reacher – it’s more akin to Neagley. Maintaining the same entertaining vibe, the creators have given it a unique identity of its own.
The Neagley series is being created by Nick Santora, who is renowned for his work on the Reacher series, in collaboration with Nicholas Wootton, a well-known figure from Law & Order. Both of them will assume roles as co-showrunners and executive producers for the series. Additionally, Lee Child (the creator and author of Jack Reacher), Don Granger, Lisa Kussner, and Skydance Television’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell are also involved in production duties.
The Reacher Spin-off Promises To Continue the Legacy
