As a hardcore gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the wild west, I can barely contain my excitement! After years of waiting, Red Dead Redemption is finally making its grand debut on the PC platform. And not just any release, but a thoroughly optimized one with native 4K resolution, HDR10 support, and even keyboard and mouse functionality – oh, and let’s not forget the inclusion of the iconic Undead Nightmare DLC!
Rockstar Games has finally announced the long-awaited arrival of Red Dead Redemption on the PC.
Starting October 29, you can find this game on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It’s been optimized for PC platforms and offers native 4K resolution support at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, as well as monitors with sizes like 21:9 and 32:9. Additionally, it supports HDR10 and keyboard and mouse functionality. Furthermore, it has NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more. Rockstar confirmed these features, mentioning that they partnered with Double Eleven to improve the game.
Alongside the standard edition of Red Dead, the game’s Undead Nightmare DLC (a scenario where the game is overrun by zombies) will also come bundled when you buy it for PC.
Initially, “Red Dead Redemption” was launched back in May 2010, available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The game centers around the character of John Marston, a former outlaw tasked with tracking down three of his ex-gang members to secure the safe return of his wife and son. This title garnered numerous accolades, including Game of the Year, and is often hailed as one of the greatest video games ever made. A prequel was released in 2018, focusing on another gang member named Arthur Morgan.
