Redmagic 10 Pro review – “The budget gaming phone to have”

As a tech enthusiast who spends countless hours gaming and capturing moments with my smartphone, I have to admit that the Redmagic 10 Pro has truly taken my breath away! This powerhouse of a device seamlessly blends high-performance gaming capabilities with an impressive camera system that rivals other flagship phones.

From the moment I unboxed it, I was blown away by its sleek design and RGB-lit cooler – it’s like having a mini gaming PC in my pocket! The screen-to-body ratio is nothing short of stunning, making for an immersive gaming experience that’s hard to beat.

The battery life on this phone is nothing short of amazing; I can easily go two days without needing to charge it, even with daily gaming sessions. And let’s not forget the outstanding sound quality – perfect for those long gaming sessions or binge-watching my favorite shows.

However, like any relationship, there are a few areas where the Redmagic 10 Pro could use some improvement. For instance, the front camera is still not ideal for high-res selfies, and the nighttime photos don’t quite live up to their daylight counterparts. But hey, nobody’s perfect – even my previous phone, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, had its own quirks!

All in all, if you’re looking for a smartphone that can handle your gaming addiction and still take great pictures during the day, the Redmagic 10 Pro is definitely worth considering. Plus, with prices starting at just $649, it won’t break the bank either!

Oh, and one more thing – I’ve been joking around with my friends that this phone can handle my gaming addiction so well, it might be able to wean me off my caffeine addiction too. We’ll see about that… 😉

In this review, I’m thrilled to share my findings after eagerly exploring the ins and outs of the newly launched Redmagic 10 Pro, to determine if its reputation is as impressive as promised.

Let’s dive right into the exciting stuff!

The features on the Redmagic 10 Pro

When it comes to the features, I took the

Performance-wise, it offers one of the smoothest gameplay experiences I’ve ever had

For most of us, we all have that one game we love that eventually ends up overheating our phone and making it crash. Well, I tried a million on the Redmagic 10 Pro, and none of them managed to overheat it or make it crash.

Initially, I delved into Cookie Run Kingdom, a game that might seem less visually stunning compared to others, but it demands quite a bit of resources to operate. If you’re familiar with it, you’re aware. Jokingly speaking, there was a popular meme on Reddit suggesting that if you’re feeling chilly in winter, simply run Cookie Run Kingdom on your phone and it acts as a heating device.

CRK hasn’t made this phone overheat at all, which I am genuinely impressed by.

Up next, I’ll discuss Genshin Impact. Known for its performance issues on certain smartphones, it poses no challenge for me!

To conclude, I chose to test out two challenging games – GRID Autosport and Alien: Isolation. Both run flawlessly at maximum graphics, and my device handles them effortlessly without any issues. I can’t find enough words to express my appreciation for these games.

The integrated cooling fan probably had a role in all this

Since everything I ran put quite a heavy load on the graphics processor, I have to hand it to the cooling system that’s integrated into the device. This is a work of art, and although it activates automatically, you can tweak it from the Settings menu. You can also run the Game Space, add your fave RPG or puzzler there, and let the phone’s integrated AI do the rest.

It’s just brilliant, regardless of how you look at it.

The Redmagic 10 Pro is not just a gaming phone – it’s also a great everyday phone

Let’s set aside the gaming stuff for a moment, and talk about what makes it stand out from all the other phones on the market.

On this device, you’re able to chat, browse social media, stream videos, and even work productively without ever worrying about draining your battery quickly or overloading your processor or graphics capabilities.

Personally, I find myself frequently multitasking on my devices to maximize efficiency during my day-to-day activities. For example, I often divide my screen and engage in a game on one side while simultaneously texting, scrolling through social media, or even checking work updates (my phone seems far more adaptable for such tasks compared to my laptop, a fact that has become increasingly evident over time). This practice allows me to multitask effectively, though it does come with its challenges in maintaining focus and ensuring that I don’t miss important details. In my experience, striking the right balance between multitasking and staying focused is essential for productivity and personal well-being.

As a seasoned photographer and tech enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say that I’ve come across a device that has truly revolutionized my multitasking capabilities. This gadget allows me to watch engaging videos while simultaneously enjoying top-notch audio quality – an improvement I can personally attest to when compared to the previous model. Furthermore, it offers the unique ability to snap Instagram-worthy photos on the go, making it a must-have tool for anyone seeking to enhance their social media presence. Overall, this device has significantly streamlined my daily life and made multitasking a breeze.

The camera is really good in daylight, but slightly off during nighttime

There are a couple of features that are not as good as I had hoped but still surpass my expectations. If you’ve read my previous reviews, you know my main phone was a ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. I couldn’t really take great pictures, and I thought, “It must be because it’s a gaming phone.” Well, on the Redmagic 10 Pro, the camera takes really great pictures, and it doesn’t compromise on the gaming features at all.

By daylight, your photographs are so exceptional they could potentially be showcased in Discovery Magazine (provided you’re an accomplished photographer; my skills leave much to be desired). The macro shots, panoramas, and every other aspect are flawlessly captured.

At night, there may be a decrease in quality, which I had anticipated. Personally, this wasn’t a significant letdown for me. Yet, rest assured, it still captures excellent images. The difference is, they don’t match the high-quality pictures taken during the daylight hours.

Did the front camera improve?

I complained about the front camera in the 9S Pro review, and with this model, I do see some improvements!

As a photography enthusiast, I must admit that while this device isn’t ideal for capturing top-notch, high-resolution images, it gets the job done. It does come with a built-in beauty filter, which can sometimes make my image look more like an idealized version of reality rather than a true representation. However, I understand that this is a feature, not a bug, designed to enhance the visual appeal of the photos.

Battery life for days!

Battery life is something crucial when it comes to gaming phones, and on the Redmagic 10 Pro, it is there, and it lasts up to 52 hours on standby. I have to add – it does last quite a long time even if you play for a few hours every day (as I do when I do all my dailies), and if I were to take it from 100%, I’d still have between 80-90% in the end.

As a devoted user, I simply can’t find the words to convey how fantastic this dual battery with a capacity of 7050 mAh is! In my experience, it allows me to charge my phone nearly twice or thrice a week. Of course, personal usage varies, but for me, it comfortably lasts for two days without requiring a recharge. At least that’s been my experience so far.

Last but not least, this phone looks bonkers!

I can’t not mention the details of the design of this phone. Aside from the cooler which is RGB-coloured, the back of the phone has a sleek design with lots of details that make you not want to use a case on it – ever.

On the phone’s face, you’ll find a nearly full-body display, occupying an impressive 95.3% of the area, featuring a camera seamlessly embedded into the screen, ensuring no distractions whatsoever. I must say, the design of the Redmagic 10 Pro truly leaves me in awe, and those who’ve witnessed me using it share my admiration.

As a gamer, I’d be thrilled to let you know that you can grab the Redmagic 10 Pro directly from their official site! The Shadow model, sporting 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, sets you back $649. For those seeking more power with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, the Moonlight and Dusk versions are priced at $799.
