As a dedicated fan of both Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern, I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon Hollywood’s modern-day Bonnie and Clyde. Their friendship is as captivating as their on-screen performances, and watching them work together in Big Little Lies was an absolute delight.

Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern are not only both Academy Award-winning actresses, but they also share a strong bond of friendship. Their on-screen chemistry was highly appreciated by fans in the HBO series ‘Big Little Lies’, which can be streamed with a Max subscription. Witherspoon recently celebrated her friend Dern following the success of their latest movie at the top of Netflix charts, leaving fans eagerly anticipating another season of ‘Big Little Lies’.

Laura Dern’s new movie Lonely Planet has been super popular on Netflix since it hist the streamer, with audiences all over the world watching the film. To celebrate just how many people with a Netflix subscription are watching it, Reese Witherspoon shouted out her bestie on Instagram story. Check it out below:

Isn’t that adorable? True friends rejoice in each other’s triumphs, and that’s precisely what Reese Witherspoon is doing here. The achievement of Lonely Planet on its streaming service certainly deserves attention, considering the number of viewers it must attract to reach the top spot, even over popular Netflix series like the steamy one. Admittedly, whenever I see Witherspoon and Dern together, my thoughts often wander back to Big Little Lies.

For several years now, Nicole Kidman and other stars from “Big Little Lies” have suggested they’d be eager to explore more stories about the Monterey Five. However, since the Season 2 finale in 2019, there hasn’t been much concrete news. Although the second season received some negative feedback, there seems to be a strong desire to witness this talented cast again… myself included.

Since “Big Little Lies” was adapted from Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name, Season 2 needed to develop a fresh plotline to move the story forward. The women stuck together to conceal the truth about Perry’s death, and they encountered a new antagonist in Meryl Streep’s character, Mary Louise. Regrettably, the scene where Reese Witherspoon tosses ice cream didn’t make it into the final cut.

At the end of Season 2, Bonnie surrendered herself for shoving Perry, leading to his demise. Viewers are eagerly waiting to find out what transpires next, especially regarding Madeline’s marital life. Here’s hoping that production for Season 3 of Big Little Lies begins swiftly.

Although it’s uncertain if Laura Dern will reprise the role of Renata Klein from before, the beloved star of Jurassic Park has much to rejoice about. Primarily, the remarkable achievement of her latest film, Lonely Planet, in which she shares the screen with Liam Hemsworth. This romantic comedy centers around Dern’s character Katherine, who discovers love with a younger man while writing in Morocco.

Currently, you can stream “Lonely Planet” on Netflix. Meanwhile, if you’re a fan of “Big Little Lies,” both seasons are accessible on Max. Don’t forget to mark down the 2025 movie release dates to make your New Year cinema trips more convenient!
