Regina Hall Joins Will Ferrell and Zac Efron in Amazon MGM Comedy Movie (Exclusive)

Actress Regina Hall is all set to join forces with Will Ferrell and Zac Efron for a laugh-out-loud comedy yet to be named, produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

Director Nicholas Stoller is leading the production based on his own written script, as the film was previously known as “Judgment Day“. This project marks a reunion for Stoller and Ferrell, having last worked together on “You’re Cordially Invited“, which debuted on Prime Video this year and features Reese Witherspoon alongside them.

The recently released movie revolves around a young ex-con (Zac Efron), who finds himself holding a live television courtroom at gunpoint, believing that the judge (Will Ferrell) handed down a decision that wrecked his life.

The individuals serving as producers are Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alex Brown from Gloria Sanchez Productions, along with Stoller from Stoller Global Solutions.

Hall will soon appear in Paul Thomas Anderson’s film “One Battle After Another” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as in Searchlight Pictures’ original rock opera “O’Dessa“. She is also recognized for her roles in the “Best Man“, “Think Like a Man“, and “Scary Movie” series. Other recent film credits include “Me Time“, “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.“, and “Master“.

In 2018’s film “Support the Girls,” directed by Andrew Bujalski, she clinched the New York Film Critics Circle award for best actress, marking her as the inaugural Black actress to achieve this recognition.

Hall’s Rh Negative series has secured an initial agreement with MGM Alternative, a branch of Amazon MGM Studios, for a first look at upcoming projects.

Stoller is recognized for directing movies like “Bros,” “Neighbors” and its sequel, as well as “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” He also jointly created the Apple TV+ series “Platonic,” which stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne and has been renewed for a second season.
