Remembering Corey Feldman’s Wild Sliders Guest Star Role

1996 was the year we can’t forget, known as the Year of the Tornado. That was when Twister premiered in cinemas, and later in the same year, Quinn Mallory (Jerry O’Connell) and his Sliders gang found themselves on a planet dominated by tornadoes in Season 3’s “Electric Twister Acid Test.” Now, you can catch these Sliders on Peacock.

They find themselves stranded in a desolate desert, and their time-tracking device malfunctions unpredictably. Uncertain of how long they’ll stay on this planet, they fear being trapped here indefinitely if they can’t repair the timer. All of a sudden, an electrified tornado rushes through the vicinity. Not even water is safe to drink, as it too carries an electric charge, potentially lethal to anyone attempting to quench their thirst.

Unraveling the End of SYFY’s Sliders: Why Rembrandt Brown was the True Lead Character

Did you know that in the final season of Syfy’s Slider, it was revealed that Rembrandt Brown was actually the main character all along? This may come as a surprise to some fans who thought Quinn Mallory was the central figure. Let’s delve into why this twist made perfect sense and how it adds to the richness of the series.

Throughout Sliders, we saw Rembrandt Brown (played by John Rhys-Davies) as a quirky, lovable, and intelligent character who often provided comic relief with his humorous one-liners and unexpected insights. However, his character development was not just for laughs; he served as the moral compass of the group.

In the final season, it is revealed that Rembrandt’s knowledge of art, history, and culture from various worlds made him invaluable to the team. His unique abilities allowed them to survive in alien cultures they encountered, ultimately proving his importance as a team member. This was further emphasized when Quinn sacrificed himself to save the group, demonstrating Rembrandt’s vital role in keeping the Sliders together.

In addition to the TV series, did you know that Sliders had even more adventures through a 1990s spin-off comic book series? These stories expanded the universe of Sliders and provided fans with a deeper exploration of the characters and their journeys. The comic books also delved into Rembrandt’s past, revealing his connection to the creation of the Slide Machine.

In conclusion, while Quinn Mallory was initially perceived as the main character in Sliders, Rembrandt Brown proved to be the true lead throughout the series. His knowledge and character development made him an essential member of the team, and the comic books provided additional insights into his past and the world of Sliders. If you’re a fan of the show, don’t miss out on these exciting adventures!

Luckily, the Sliders stumble upon a town shielded by a massive geological barrier made of magnetic stones. However, true to form for the Sliders, danger was never far behind, and they were expelled to the desert where they crossed paths with a rebellious faction of Outsiders, headed by no one other than Corey Feldman himself.

Corey Feldman guest starred alongside Stand By Me co-star Jerry O’Connell on an episode of Sliders

Feldman is known as one of the most identifiable child actors ever, with a career that took off from an early age. At just three years old, he began appearing in advertisements. In his initial years, he amassed numerous commercials and TV roles, totalling dozens.

It wasn’t until the mid-80s that Feldman truly made a name for himself, becoming one of the most recognized children globally. In just a few swift years, he took on roles in movies like “Gremlins” (1984), “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” (1984) and its sequel “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning” (1985). He delivered a remarkable performance as the quick-witted Mouth in “The Goonies” (1985), starred alongside Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, and Jerry O’Connell in “Stand by Me” (1986), and appeared on the big screen with them again. In 1987, he introduced the character of Edward Frog in “The Lost Boys,” and in the early ’90s, he lent his voice to Donatello in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (1990) and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III” (1993).

In the third season of “Sliders”, Feldman portrays Reed Michener, a character who serves as the leader of the Outsiders and is the estranged son of the town’s leader, Franklin Michener, played by Bill Bolener.

Corey Feldman leads the resistance on Sliders’ tornado-infested alternate Earth

On this planet where tornadoes occur, the air is electrified due to an uncommon magnetic field surrounding the planet. This sanctuary town remains largely unaffected as it’s situated within a cluster of lodestones – large, naturally occurring magnets.

As a gamer exploring the mysteries of Earth, I’ve stumbled upon these fascinating stones known as lodestones. The name comes from their ancient role in guiding navigators on their courses or paths, hence “lode” meaning “course” or “way.” These stones are rich in magnetite with traces of iron and other impurities. Most magnetite responds to magnets, yet remains un-magnetized itself. However, it’s a mystery why some of these stones become permanent magnets. One theory suggests that powerful magnetic fields might have been created during lightning strikes, which somehow transformed these stones into our modern-day compasses.

In the parallel world depicted in “Sliders,” lodestones eliminate the electrical influence within the atmosphere, enabling people to coexist peacefully and for the Sliding Timer to function. However, any man-made electronics will draw twisters, and the mere existence of the Timer results in catastrophe. Franklin Michener serves as a de facto leader for the town’s protection, but there is more to the story.

It appears that Franklin developed the tornadoes as a result of his work on military technology which malfunctioned. To conceal this fact and save himself, he concealed the truth. In turn, he exiled his own son Reed (Feldman) to uphold the deception. Now, Reed heads the Outsiders, struggling for survival in what’s left of the Concord Air Force Base beneath the ground.

If things go well, perhaps the Sliders will manage to reunite father and son before they board their interdimensional transit flight.
