As an ardent fan of Remo D’Souza and his electrifying dance moves, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent allegations against him and his wife Lizelle. Having witnessed firsthand the passion, dedication, and integrity that Remo brings to his craft, it is disheartening to see their names tarnished in such a manner.
Following news breaks about a lawsuit accusing choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle D’Souza of swindling a dance troupe for approximately Rs 11.96 crore, the couple has now spoken out on the matter. In response to allegations involving dance group VUnbeatable, Remo and Lizelle have stated that their names have been wrongly associated with these charges, emphasizing that they are unaware of the truth behind the claims.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to clarify a misunderstanding that’s been circulating recently. My team and I at RDEPL have found ourselves in the midst of allegations involving fraudulent activities and misuse of funds. However, I want to assure you all that these claims are unfounded and we are taking every necessary step to clear our names. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency in our work.
Remo observed that Veergovindam Navrottam submitted a First Information Report (FIR) at the Mira Road Police Station, naming seven people including RDEPL members, as defendants. The couple pointed out that the complainant has also sought help from the High Court, alleging that the police have failed to act on his grievance concerning Omprakash Chauhan and others.
D’Souza made clear that RDEPL and its leaders are not associated with the reported fraud of 11.96 crores. They clarified that the accusations seem to target Omprakash Chauhan, a co-founder of the dance group, who has submitted a writ petition in the High Court demanding action against Mahesh More and others within the group’s management.
In 2018, it was revealed that VUnbeatable took part in the dance competition series Dance Plus, acting as one of the judges for the show.
After the show ended, RDEPL entered into an arrangement with VUnbeatable to produce a movie detailing their team’s experiences. The agreed-upon payment for this project amounted to Rs. 5,11,000 that was given to the group by Chauhan following approval from all team members. However, RDEPL stated that this agreement wasn’t executed, and no disputes or complaints were brought forward regarding this matter.
The pair unequivocally asserted that the accusations of dishonest practices (cheating or forgery) leveled against RDEPL and its management are unfounded. They also pledged to collaborate fully with the ongoing inquiry, supplying all relevant documents as required.
Additionally, they showed faith in the investigative team and the legal system, underscoring their dedication to uncovering the facts.
Moreover, Remo mentioned that the Bombay High Court instructed the investigative team to carry out an unbiased and objective probe. He emphasized that certain individuals with personal gains in mind might be trying to wrongfully tarnish their reputation.
